Nephrotic syndrome is a complex of symptoms, manifested as a result of kidney damage and accompanied by massive proteinuria, impaired protein-lipid metabolism and edema. In nephrotic syndrome, an exudate or transudate accumulates in the abdominal cavity, the subcutaneous tissue swells, hydrothorax and hydropericardium develops.
