Treatment chronic hematogenous osteomyelitis in Frantiskovy Lazne

Hematogenous or endogenous is called osteomyelitis, in which the causative agents of purulent infection enter the bone through blood from a remote site (furuncle, abscess, cellulitis, tonsillitis, etc.). The chronic form of the disease is indicated in cases where the affected areas after treatment are not replaced by newly formed bone tissue. This usually happens for 2-3 months of illness when the sequesters, necrotic bone areas are separated and cavities form in their place. At the same time, the pain fade a little, become aching, the fistulas emit little purulent secretions, in some cases they even tightened, which leads to accumulation of pus in the bone cavity. Remission can last from 2-3 weeks to several decades. When detecting cavities and ulcers of the osteomyelitis, suppurating fistulas, sequesters, as well as in the case of a high frequency of relapses with intoxication, intense pain, with loss of motor function or risk of malignancy, an operation (necroectomy) is performed, followed by drainage and bone grafting.
