Treatment operated stomach syndrome (dumping syndrome) in Frantiskovy Lazne

Diseases of the operated stomach are called pathological conditions in the body, manifested some time after resection of 2/3 (or more) of the stomach, vagotomy and antrumectomy. The most common pathology is dumping syndrome, in which food masses unnecessarily rapidly flow from the stomach stump into the small intestine, irritating various receptors and causing a vegetative crisis. Symptoms appear on average 10-15 minutes after a meal: weakness, dizziness (up to fainting), palpitations, cardialgia, sweating, fever, epigastric pain, vomiting, increased gas, intestinal colic, diarrhea. The patient is forced to take a horizontal position for 2-3 hours. After the same 2-3 hours after a meal, late dumping syndrome may develop due to an increase in glucose (and, as a result, excessive secretion of insulin into the blood). The attack lasts from 30 to 60 minutes, accompanied by a sharp weakness, hunger, chills, sweating, dizziness, a sharp decrease in blood pressure, bradycardia, a sharp pain in the epigastric region. Treatment is based on the principles of diet therapy, restorative therapy and drug therapy. In very severe cases, surgery is performed.
