Impressions from staying at the Astoria Hotel turned out to be completely negative. Room 113, where I stayed, was simply a nightmare. (!) There was a constant problem with water leaking from the roof and the floor in the room was always wet.(!) The soundproofing was also terrible - you can hear people breathing behind the walls!!! which makes the stay absolutely unpleasant. But that's not all. At the end of my stay I was surprised by the additional costs. The hotel illegally charged me more than 450 Czech crowns for laboratory tests that should have been free. Such a cost overrun of $70 is simply unacceptable. I do not recommend Hotel Astoria to any traveler. This turned out to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.Positives

It was our first time at Art Deco Wolker and we were pleasantly surprised. The junior suite fully corresponded to the description, a separate room with a couch, desk and TV, another TV in the bedroom, a very spacious bathroom (unfortunately there is no storage space for various utensils) and a second one in another room WC. The furnishings in the suite are high-quality, even the rotating light switches with the black knob are an eye-catcher. The small balcony facing the street was also a pleasant touch. It's not far from Astoria, where we dined and had our spa treatments. The treatments in the Astoria (including relaxing carbonic acid baths or classic back massages) were very nice and pleasant. On the way to Astoria you can drink water in the Mill Fountain Colonade. The buffet style food selection is really great. I was there in June 2022 and nothing has changed apart from a few small things. This time, on two evenings, I found the offerings unconvincing (fatty and bony dishes or fish heads), because I don't like eating the bones at all. But that's a quirk of mine and shouldn't be viewed negatively here. However, the service would have to change or clean the ladles for removing the food more often and also keep the storage surfaces clean, because some guests handle food superficially and some dishes stick very strongly to the ladle and you can hardly get anything on your plate then leaves traces around the food containers.
