Treatment bursitis (bursopathy) in Marianske Lazne

Bursitis is called inflammation of the synovial bag, in which a significant amount of exudate is formed and accumulates in its cavity. There are acute, subacute and chronic forms of bursitis. Acute bursitis is manifested by the formation of a painful, localized, elastic swelling of a round shape, the skin reddens, soft tissues swell slightly, moderate limited movement in the joint develops. In some cases, patients complain of malaise and fever. Without treatment, edema increases, body temperature rises to 39-40 °C, pain becomes pronounced, phlegmon may develop. If the disease takes a chronic form in which a swelling remains, and the remaining symptoms of acute bursitis disappear, however, even a slight injury or a decrease in immunity causes the inflammatory process to re-develop. Acute bursitis requires rest of the limb, ice compresses and drug therapy are indicated, sometimes a bursa puncture is required to remove fluid and/or the introduction of corticosteroids. Severe acute and chronic forms of bursitis in most cases can be cured by surgical excision of the bag.
