Treatment psoriatic arthritis in Piestany
One form of arthritis that develops in 5-7% of cases of psoriatic skin or nail damage. 7 out of 10 patients have arthritis symptoms after psoriasis, 2 out of 10 have arthritis debut earlier than skin manifestations, and 1 out of 10 patients have symptoms at the same time. Psoriatic arthritis can begin suddenly, accompanied by intense pain and swelling of the joints, or it can slowly progress, manifesting weakness, arthralgia, myalgia. Usually the interphalangeal joints of the upper limbs, the metacarpus and metatarsophalangeal joints, knee and shoulder joints are affected. The treatment is aimed at eliminating inflammatory processes, pain and prevention of functional disorders of the joints. NSAIDs or selective COX-2 inhibitors, muscle relaxants, glucocorticoids are assigned. Effective in the treatment of psoriatic arthritis are photochemotherapy, magnetic therapy, laser therapy, electro-and phonophoresis with glucocorticosteroids, therapeutic exercise. In severe cases, arthroplasty is indicated.
