The downside is that two muds in two weeks of treatment give zero treatment effect... It’s a pity that you can’t buy more yourself, they say there are no places. People come here mainly for mud treatment, they are very effective in helping with musculoskeletal diseases - musculoskeletal system. I have something to compare with. I visited this hotel every year for 6 years. And it was enough for me to live for a year without pain in my knees and back. In 2023 there is no effect... I think that instead of 6 they reduced the dirt to 2 times. The result is zero. If you take antibiotics for two days and stop, the result will not help. Same here.... it’s a shame - it was a great resort... thank you

When leaving 1 day earlier, they charged a parking fee of €85, I paid cashless, and only then remembered that the street rate was €2 per day, there were 12 days, apparently they counted as in an underground garage. Food is also modest and not varied, by the end I was fed up.

Sanatorium Grand is one of the budget sanatoriums on Kupelny Island. The hospital and treatment are carried out in a single center for 4 hotels, and the level of treatment and procedures is the same for all. It was also a plus for me that it was the farthest from the hospital - which made it easy to walk 10-15 thousand steps a day.Negatives
In the next room they were smoking on the balcony and all the smoke was coming into the rooms. It is better to segment the placement of smoking and non-smoking guests in the building.

Balcony chair broken on day 1 was picked up and never replaced. The toilet flushed several times for hours, which was very annoying. The nightly music from a festival nearby was also annoying and went on until after 2 a.m. for a week.

A beautiful, cozy, well-kept park with new sports grounds. Drinking areas with mineral water have been updated. The covered pedestrian gallery between the hotels and the medical building is convenient. I was pleasantly surprised by the “All inclusive” room, where you can drink hot tea, coffee, beer, juices between lunch and dinner; sometimes there was ice cream, as well as apples and pastries. The service staff everywhere was full of attention and respect for the patients. The food in restaurants (specifically in Vienna and Prague) is very varied to suit every taste. There were a lot of vegetable dishes, there were always two types of soups, and an assortment of pastries. Vending machines with 7 types of coffee and hot milk. A boiler with boiling water and the availability of single-serve bags of various teas made it possible to drink a cup of your favorite hot tea. In a word, it was a complete pleasure for me to be on Kupelny Island for the third time. I really rested and healed. I arrived in Piestany with the help of a cane and left without it. The transfer works incredibly accurately and politely. My next visit will only be there, to Piestany. They have a luxurious gym with many exercise machines.Negatives

I won’t write about the advantages. If you just need to relax and unwind, then this is the place for you. If you need treatment, then buy a light package and pay for the rest of the procedures. They prescribe physical education and a bunch of other unnecessary things, without changing anything within the package. The doctor's examination is superficial. I felt worse, but I couldn’t achieve anything, even for additional payment. Maybe I was unlucky with the doctor. A nice bonus in the form of beer and wine for lunch and dinner, as well as coffee and drinks with pastries throughout the day.Negatives

I asked to remove the physical therapy and they said we had a complex: 4 mud, 4 massage, etc. My wife and I had different illnesses, but we were given the same procedures. It is necessary to write in advance what procedures are included in the complex, if I had known in advance, I would not have gone. The only one who pleased me was Veronica, who solved several problems. The food is the same every day. Everyone walks around without masks, we came home and took the 2 corona test, but it’s been bad for the last 5 days, how many people have we managed to infect. Quality of treatment is at the high standard, the treatment department is very well organized, the treatment procedures are according to the scheduled time. Nurses are hardworking and polite and are attentive to the patients' needs. The doctor was very accommodative to the health needs in terms of treatments' orders. Stuff is able to communicate in different languages. The room has two bathrobes. The reception was very friendly and helpful. The resort locates in the beautiful park area.Negatives
Upon arrival and during the stay the rooms were dusty, not cleaned well enough. The restaurant is not big enough for the number of visitors they had and very often it was too crowded. The restaurant stuff is not polite enough, the tables not always were cleaned on time. Food is average, tastes good, the variety is limited.

1. For my 2-week stay (ca. 40 treatments) - treatments prescribed by the doctor were given as if in accordance with the necessity to employ all their unnecessary but counting facilities, so it comes to 8-10 kinds of treatments 3-4 each kind, instead of getting 5-6 kinds at 7-8 of each during 2 weeks, which is normal in rehab resorts. Thus they are playing the game of making you pay extra for the ones you really need. 2. Staff in most cases is not cheerful, until you “thank” them. 3. Food plan is disastrous, just a cattle farm - one not big restaurant (the other one they closed for energy saving😁) is engaged to accomodate both Splendid hotels, - overcrowded, no personal table (fight and quarrels were a norm as they contrived to assign 1/3 of the tables to group guests from Germany and Middle East; don’t understand how we differ, though), and food quality poor, those for diets don’t expect it at all. No need to mention, there was no dress-code required even for dinner, so, “slippers” style forever ✌️. Summary: for food and overall comfort may be Esplanade is worth trying; for treatments - light package only or aparthotel/pension nearby, and purchase all treatments you need after a mandatory initial doctor’s check-up. It will save your nerves, and possibly budget too. Napoleon (near Pro Patria) is ok.

I liked very much the location of the hotel. It's on the island with a lot of trees, the air is so fresh you can feel it when you open the balcony in the morning. The responsiveness of the staff is amazing, especially medical one. I liked the quality of services provided by Dr. Suzana Kosic, she speaks English, Ukrainian, Russian and it's helps a lot as well as her desire to help, to track the progress and change the medical procedures if necessary.Negatives
The food is OK, but with small changes in the menu. If a stay is for two weeks or longer, the menu could be more diverse. However, when they serve a fish, in any varieties, it is something amazing. What I didn't approve, is that almost half of tables is usually reserved, sometimes to find a free table could be a real problem.

The room was large, as planned, but not fully prepared. Extractor hood in the bathroom was broken. It was repaired immediately after we reported it, but during the repair my personal belongings were not protected at all from falling rubbish.

Overall, I was satisfied with my stay at the sanatorium. It’s too early to judge the effect of treatment, but I think it will be (judging by how I feel). The All inclusive system was a surprise for me. I stayed at the Grand Hotel (Splendid), also known as Eva. The two hotels are connected to each other and have a common infrastructure. The hotel is family-run, there are many older couples and families with children. Very good animation for children. For adults, there were dances in the evenings almost every day. They give you gowns and you can go to the medical building without going outside. The hotel does not have air conditioning, but the fan helped, although the temperature was up to 40 degrees.Negatives
Room cleaning was limited to changing towels. For 10 days the bed was not changed or the dust was wiped off. The garbage was not picked up for three days or was only partially picked up in such heat; a smell appeared and you had to take it out yourself. I was shocked by this. I left a complaint at the reception once, but it didn’t help. So I had to clean up myself and waste my nerves.

There is no negativity, just a desire to diversify vegetable salads. It’s really very disappointing that there is no (turned off) Russian television, and in the dining room there are no names of dishes in Russian, yes, I understand that these are sanctions and all that, but why should Russian-speaking visitors to your resort from other countries have to suffer?
