Myopathies are called metabolic disorders and the structure of muscle tissue, causing weakening of the affected muscles and limiting their physical activity. The first signs of the development of myopathy are slight muscular weakness in the legs or arms, especially when walking, playing sports and other physical activities. Weakness can accrue over the years, muscular atrophies are formed and develop rapidly, reaching even the deformation of the limbs. Strong muscular weakness makes it impossible to jump, run, patients hardly take upright posture, climb stairs and just walk, lordosis and duck gait develop. The long course of myopathy leads to the extinction of the tendon reflexes, the manifestation of flaccid paralysis, the formation of contractures. In some cases, mimic muscles are affected, mimicry becomes scarce, a person loses the ability to smile and frown, problems with speech appear. At the moment, the treatment of myopathy is reduced to the relief of symptoms and the normalization of muscle tissue metabolism. The effect of drug therapy is enhanced by physiotherapy, massage and exercise therapy, wearing orthopedic correction devices.
