Varicose veins are characterized by thinning of the venous walls, an increase in the lumen, convolution, destruction of the veins and the appearance of aneurysm-like nodular extensions, venous insufficiency is formed. Varicose veins are commonly called varicose veins of the lower extremities. The symptomatology of the disease in the early stages is represented by heaviness in the legs, rapid fatigability, pain in the legs, telangiectasias may form. With the further development of the disease, patients complain of transient pain, swelling with prolonged walking or standing. In the decompensation stage, varicose veins are manifested by constant severity in the lower extremities, dull pain, cramps in sleep, very fast fatigue, itching, outwardly easily visible expansion of veins, cases of dizziness and fainting. Foci of cyanosis, hyperpigmentation of the skin, fiber seals, trophic ulcers against eczema appear. Varicose veins are treated as a conservative, by performing exercises, normalizing physical activity, by compression methods (in particular, by introducing a special elastic foam into the deformed vein, followed by a compress), and surgically, for example, radio-frequency or laser coagulation.
