Treatment bronchiectatic disease in Ein Bokek (Dead Sea)
Irreversible changes in the bronchi, complemented by functional inferiority and a progressive purulent-inflammatory process in the bronchial tree. Deformed bronchi are called bronchiectasis. Among the symptoms of bronchiectasis, persistent cough with purulent sputum, hemoptysis, pulmonary hemorrhage, weight loss, respiratory failure and anemia develop in the late stages of the disease. Treatment consists in suppressing purulent-inflammatory processes with antibiotics and bronchoscopic drainage. Expectorant medications are prescribed, bronchoalveolar lavage is performed, pus is aspirated with a bronchoscope. During remission, spa treatment and breathing exercises are indicated. If there are no contraindications, then patients are shown surgical resection of the altered lobe of the lung. In order to prevent exacerbations and treatment, patients are sent to resorts where the main in therapy is climate therapy, exercise therapy, massage, microwave irradiation, electrophoresis with calcium chloride, inductometry (exposure to high-frequency magnetic field).
