Sarvar is one of the most popular balneological resort in Hungary, its main specialization is the treatment of the musculoskeletal system diseases and rehabilitation after injuries, fractures and orthopaedic surgeries. The resort also effectively treats neurological disorders, respiratory diseases, chronic gynaecological diseases and some forms of female infertility. All treatment programmes are based on the healing properties of local thermal water from two springs: 2,000 metres deep ("Rabashemien", 83°C, sodium-chloride water) and 1,200 metres deep (43°C, alkaline hydrocarbonate water). By evaporating water from the spring "Rabashemien", the resort receives therapeutic salt - "Sarvar crystal", actively used in the form of baths to treat diseases of the musculoskeletal system, gynecological and some dermatological diseases.

How is treatment carried out in Sarvar
After checking into the spa hotel, the patient is given an appointment with a doctor. During an appointment, the doctor assesses the patient's general condition, clarifies the diagnosis and makes an individual treatment course. If the doctor needs more information about the patient's health status, he prescribes laboratory tests (usually a general blood test and a general urine test), X-ray, ECG, MRI or other tests. It is recommended that the patient bring with him the results of the latest laboratory tests and the attending physician's conclusions no earlier than six months ago.
Thermal water treatment
As stated at the beginning of the article, Sarvar uses thermal water from two springs: alkaline hydrocarbonate water (43°C) and saltier, sodium-chloride water from a depth of 2000 m (83°C). Important components of 83-degree healing water are sodium chloride, hydrogen carbonates, iodine, bromine, fluorine, and a significant amount of biologically active elements. During bathing, these substances enter the human body through the skin, and through lymphatic and capillary vessels enter the bloodstream of the body. Thermal water from the "Rabashemien" spring helps with rheumatic and deformitive diseases, and also helps with women's diseases.
Swimming in water from a colder spring relaxes muscles overworked with sports training and constant physical work, and inhaled fumes have a beneficial effect on the functioning of the respiratory tract. The water from this spring is clear and almost odourless.
Thermal balneotherapy treatments at the resort include thermal, carbon dioxide, contrast and salt baths, underwater massage, underwater spine traction, mud wraps, gymnastics in thermal pools, etc.
