Gallstone disease or cholelithiasis is a disease characterized by the formation of stones in the gallbladder or ducts. The composition of stones is divided into cholesterol and pigment. Symptoms of gallstone disease: colic, a feeling of heaviness and acute pain in the right hypochondrium, sometimes radiating to the back and neck, nausea, vomiting, fever. In some cases, obstructive jaundice and feces discoloration occur. The pain usually intensifies after drinking alcohol, fried, fatty, spicy foods, as well as after stressful situations. In the early stages, wait-and-see tactics are chosen, with the development of acute or chronic cholecystitis, gall bladder resection is performed. Stones can be dissolved with medication with acids or shock wave lithotripsy, but this does not eliminate the cause of the formation of stones.
