Symptoms of postcholecystectomy syndrome include: relapses of pain of varying intensity lasting from 20 minutes for three months or more; nausea; vomiting; abdominal distention and rumbling; unpleasant belching; heartburn; diarrhea; hypovitaminosis; weight loss; general malaise; stomatitis; jaundice; temperature rise. The treatment is aimed at eliminating the causes of the development of the syndrome, including switching to a fractional diet on a sparing diet, taking painkillers for pain syndrome and prescribed medication by the treating gastroenterologist. If necessary, surgical drainage and restoration of normal bile duct passability are performed.
