AC in the rooms not working, making them very hot. Opening the window is not a good option because of lots of noise outside. Hotel states climate control in the rooms, but rooms do not have individual climate control. The location is a bit noisy. Having no drinking water in the room was disappointing. There was no gym, albeit gym was advertised on the website. Sauna and pool close very early which is very disappointing. Matrasses are rather uncomfortable. The bus transfer was a disaster: we were driven for 12 hours (and only by a driver who didn't speak a word of German) through half of Germany before we arrived in Karlovy Vary. If it had been mentioned that such times were to be expected, we would not have booked the trip. The staff in the hotel/at the treatments) hardly spoke any German; communication in English was not possible either. The food on offer was always plentiful, but the preparation was so unimaginative that you could never look forward to the meal. The SPA was very attractive; but just 2 hours after opening there were no more towels.Positives

Breakfast and dinner were usually ended quite abruptly half an hour before the stated times (lights out in the evening). We found the trip to Prague very unpleasant. At the latest then you realize that it is assumed that everyone who goes there speaks Russian. The bus escort spoke only Russian, so that 1.5 hours of the 2-hour bus ride were spent shouting at you in Russian over the bus loudspeakers at a volume that was practically loud. Headaches were guaranteed when you arrived. Of course it was a shame that we (13 Germans with no knowledge of Russian) didn't hear anything about the country or its people. The warning that it was too loud or that a break could be taken while talking just encouraged us to talk even more and even louder. Luckily, the German-speaking tour guide was the only thing that saved us and then the 2-hour stop in Prague (time for a leisurely meal). But we were already dreading the return journey. We went to this hotel and Karlovy Vary for the first time. Let's start with the transfer, we only took it to the hotel. The car arrived on time, the driver was very polite and friendly, he informed us about everything and asked if everything was okay. In general, we arrived perfectly. The hotel is located on the central shopping street, in a pedestrian area. Everything you need is nearby within walking distance. To get to the thermal springs you need to walk 750...1.5 km, depending on the destination. If you have difficulty walking, then the hotel is not suitable for you. The rooms are spacious, the restaurant is small but cozy. Delicious kefir for dinner. I liked the medical department, professional and friendly staff, they try to accommodate everyone in everything. The procedures are carried out very well. Good saunas and a swimming pool, perhaps a little small for such a large hotel when fully loaded. 1. The attitude of the staff at the reception was a little unclear, some kind of indifference and lack of attention to visitors upon check-in. But further requests and questions were responded positively. 2. Room cleaning leaves much to be desired. Perhaps wet cleaning is not provided at all, because all the rooms are carpeted, and therefore there is a lot of dust around. The staff is friendly and upon request they immediately changed the pillows and slippers for the pool. 3. The biggest disappointment was the food. Very modest selection of hot dishes. Mostly all pork, not suitable for all visitors. Lack of designation of dishes, and sometimes erroneous designation. We didn't see any fruit except apples.Positives

We stayed at the Ambass Ador Hotels for one week. The hotel is located in the very center of Karlavy Vary, which is very convenient. I flew to Prague by plane for the first time, thanks to the sanatoriums company, they took me to the hotel without any problems (free of charge), but I have a question, why didn’t they take me back? After all, logically this should be the case. It’s good that on the last day of my stay at the hotel I asked at the reception about the car, and when they answered that there was no information on the computer, wait. I waited the whole day and in the evening when they told me that no one answers the phone at the sanatoriums, I had to order a taxi and pay 125 euros. I had such a good impression before and this incident ruined the whole mood. And also, I came to the Ambassador for my anniversary, the hotel could somehow celebrate and congratulate. I definitely recommend both the sanatorium company and the Ambassador Hotel! The masseuse Lída in room 35 is miraculous! I really liked the city - compact, with amazing architecture.
