Very nice room in a beautiful hotel. Great wellness spa, not too crowded (probably related to the fact that we were there in the middle of April). Medical procedures were mostly very good. Most of the personnel was very friendly, with just a few exceptions. Lots of choices for breakfast, and every day a different menu for lunch/dinner. Everything was at very good level, except food in restaurant. Unfortunately From summer 2023 Greek chief left and new chief was appointed. So I can say, that quality of food and its preparation declined strongly. During stay maybe 2-3 times food was prepared at acceptable level, but to have every day almost the same salad bar and not tasty main dish its quit difficult, taking into consideration that Thermia is 5 star hotel and must have same restaurant. Management must strongly consider that matter as a priority.Positives

Plenty: 1) medical staff barely speaks any other language but slowak. Considering that the public comes from different countries, expecting stuff being able to speak English/German is not much. (Knowing couple phrases it words is not equal to speaking the language) 2) A plan if the facility would be appreciated. Every day ii had to run in circles in order to find the room. Why not provide a plan of the facility? 3) incompetent "gym" instructor. The Blanka was amazing. BUT! Her colleague was the embodiment of incompetence: no language skills, no idea,how human body works, many exercises she gave us were either wrong executed or basically endangered other patients (if my trainer saw her "instructions" she definitely had got a heart attack). 4) I needed a clear doctor's schedule. Because I've got some questions considering the treatment. Unfortunately, I couldn't change the treatment plan at the reception, not the nurse could do it. But no matter when I tried to come into the doctor's office, he was either not there or he just left. The nurse had no idea, when he would come. (or couldn't explain it to me, since she doesn't speak English, German, Spanish or Russian).Negatives

In 14 days the bed linen was not changed even once. The staff shamelessly enters the room regardless of whether you are dressed or not, and the cleaning is disgusting. The meeting with the doctor occurred only on the fifth day, hence the loss of 4 days of treatment. The paid second meeting with the doctor never took place. I would like to especially note the work of Sanatoriums.com employee in Pishtani VERONIKA. When we found ourselves in a difficult situation due to the closure of the Esplanade hotel, she did not stand aside, she selflessly helped each of us, was able to come to an agreement with administration. When I came to the hotel manager, she told me that Veronica had already agreed on everything. None of the representatives of other travel agencies even lifted a finger. Kind employees with passion to attend us with all our special requests. The restaurant leadership was outstanding while the manager Greg M. went above and beyond every day he worked from offering other options and never give up surprising us with embellishing our 2-3 scoops ice creams with unique addings. We will never forget Greg M along Xenia, Kristina, Inca, Edith, Blanca, for their treatments and accommodations for my elderly mom. Too many people to remember all the names. Rihda the server and Andre were the outstanding servers for us. The Director of the Hotel Mr. Peter Katz had managed to make our stay better in more ways then one. I just spent 2 weeks in Pištany. This is our 12th time in Slovakia. By all rights, everything should be better, but unfortunately everything is not as expected. The sanatorium has a very convenient website. Everything can be ordered and everything is right. Veronica in Pištany is very helpful, and on all issues. But Thermia Palace was very upset. They changed a lot of employees for unknown reasons and everything began to work worse. Starting with the front desk. People don’t understand either Russian or English. So learn Slovak. I ordered junior number 4 +. They only gave me a junior. And this is a difference of $500. And you can’t prove anything to anyone. Then the massage is all young and very far from how to do a massage (classical and reflex). The restaurant does not correspond to 5 stars.
