On the day of arrival, we were unpleasantly surprised by the behavior of the administrator at the reception. The receiving administrator was not in the mood, the decoration was made as if it were not people standing in front of the administrator, but an empty place. Change of towels in rooms only 2 times a week. Even the request to change the towel was refused by the maid. Bed linen changed 1 time in 11 days. Very small single rooms, increased audibility both from the street and from neighboring rooms, neighbors snoring, a loud TV in the next room, music from the street, all these factors make it very difficult to have a good rest. Not very kind medical staff, modest food (in the ratings there are only good or bad options...average, I would say), Wi-Fi only in the common room. Even dressing gowns are not provided, which is a common practice in other sanatoriums in Karlovy Vary.

Sanatorium Astoria provides excellent conditions for relaxation and treatment. The rooms are of a decent standard, the food is excellent - breakfast is a fairly varied buffet, lunch and dinner - made to order, a large selection of dishes. Intensive treatment - a sufficient number of procedures. The sanatorium has a favorable location - close to many mineral water sources. In my opinion, the Astoria sanatorium is not inferior to four-star options. In addition, Karlovy Vary has excellent walking conditions: interesting walking routes start from different points of the city.

Small tables in the dining room, for 4 people it is very crowded at the table, the doctor pays little attention when prescribing procedures (just for show), does not listen, does not give information about the prescribed procedures, does not convey information about the existence of paid procedures. This moment is very striking, because I myself have a higher medical education. On a second visit, the time for communication was within 5 minutes. Why this is needed is not clear. The doctor serves several hotels at once, apparently there is no time for more. But this is not our problem. I wanted a more complete dialogue with my colleague, but alas!. There are no information stands about the treatment methods used in this sanatorium (not everyone has access to the Internet) Leisure time for vacationers is not organized in any way, after 18 o’clock everyone scatters to their rooms, it’s very boring! This is apparently a specificity of European sanatoriums

This is not even negative, but rather positive. On the first day, I was served soup with smoked sausages and tough veal. I told the nutritionist that I was not satisfied with this diet and would refuse it. I don’t know if it worked, but later everything was very tasty, very dietary and varied. So all the problems in Astoria can be easily solved. Thanks to all the staff of the resort.
