The acute form of the disease in most cases develops 3-4 days after an abortion, childbirth or other manipulations on the uterus. The temperature rises sharply to 38.0-39.0° C, the patient has chills, general malaise, tachycardia, pain in the lower abdomen and the sacrum, and abundant vaginal discharge. With chronic metroendometritis, which can develop on the background of an acute form and as an independent disease, serous, light discharge (sometimes with pus), episodes of nagging pains over the bosom, in the lower back and sacrum appear. The chronic form of metroendometritis is very often accompanied by menstrual dysfunction, nabot cysts, adhesions, pain in the pelvis, and impaired fertility can also develop. Patients need rest, bed rest and ice compresses on the lower abdomen. Drug therapy includes taking semi-synthetic penicillins, cephalosporins, analgesics, antispasmodics, vitamin complexes, immunomodulators, desensitizing and uterotonic drugs. Intrauterine lavage is performed, placenta or fetal egg residues are removed. In some cases, douching, physiotherapy, balneotherapy is indicated. In extreme cases, surgical removal of the uterus is performed along with the neck.
