Ankylosing spondylitis - inflammation of the intervertebral joints, entailing their fusion, eventually the spine loses mobility. Symptoms of the disease are: stiffness and pain in the thoracic spine, as well as in the sacroiliac region, radiating to the buttocks and legs, pain in the calcaneus, increased ESR, fever, weakness, chills, sweating, headaches, dizziness, impaired coordination. Ankylosing spondylitis is treated with the help of kinesiotherapy, physiotherapy and medication. In severe forms, surgical treatment is indicated, joint replacement.
