The spa town of Františkovy Lázně is historic with all the old buildings and many hotels, the whole place and the spa promenade is very clean, no cigarette butts and dog excrement or paper on the sidewalk, it is all flat for walking, no uphill or downhill, ideal for walkers, wheelchairs and crutches who are always out and about because of the spa hotels, the spa promenade is less busy in winter but from spring to autumn there are many events and the cafes restaurants with outdoor terraces are full. The springs are also very beautiful, you have to take a cup or bottle with you and you can try water everywhere (it tastes salty, like iron or Glauber3/4 is very salty). The place has a lot of hotels from 2-5 stars and simple, cheap guesthouses to stay overnight . The best thing is the Aquaforum, a swimming paradise with several swimming pools and a large slide outside, you can also swim from the inside to the outside. In Franzensbad many people speak German in the spa promenade, you can pay in € if you don't have a CZK, it's better to exchange € at the hotel in crowns. The exchange rate doesn't fluctuate as much as at the ATMs where you can withdraw money and pay a €5-8 exchange fee. There is even a LIDL market nearby where you can stock up on drinks cheaply, but they prefer to take CZK instead of € because you only get change in CZK. There are many ASIA shops in Františkovy Lázně. You can also go to Cheb by bus or by train, but it doesn't run very often. Excursions into the surrounding area are also offered on the promenade. In the spa collonades you can eat cheaply or enjoy freshly baked warm Karlovy Vary wafers. The spa park is huge, has many springs and benches to relax in, everything is signposted, you can't get lost and you can always find the right way back to your accommodation. I already wrote in my review of the sanatorium that I visited both Karlovy Vary and Mariinsky Lazne, but I liked Frantiskovy Lazne most of all. It is quieter here and there are unlimited opportunities for walking. The sanatoriums are surrounded by beautiful parks with horizontal surfaces. In the future I intend to go only here. Although the cities listed above are worth visiting, they are also very beautiful and wonderful. And treatment in the Czech Republic, in my opinion, is excellent everywhere!

Frantiskovy Lazne is the best resort in the Karlovy Vary region! More than 20 water sources, therapeutic peat mud and natural gas. There are a lot of lakes and flat terrain. From the railway station you can easily reach nearby cities in the Czech Republic and Germany.
