This was our second stay at the Panorama sanatorium. We are attracted by the favorable location of the sanatorium - the city center, close to the lake, the opportunity to walk to the St. Andras hospital from the hotel along the covered gallery in a robe (these are provided by the sanatorium). The hotel has a reasonable price/quality ratio - clean, warm, friendly staff, good cuisine. The hospital where we had our procedures had attentive, punctual, responsible staff.Negatives
The only unpleasant moment that was completely out of the ordinary was the visit to the doctor who prescribed the procedures on January 17, 2017. Indifference to symptoms and the results of previous examinations brought with them, asking the patient to independently choose a set of procedures, difficulty communicating in Russian or English. The doctor could not even measure my blood pressure, saying after unsuccessful attempts that the batteries needed to be changed. I don’t want to cast a shadow on the entire staff; last year another doctor was professional and attentive.

Unfortunately, there are many more disadvantages than advantages. Upon arrival at the hotel, no one meets you, and you must go with a translator to your doctor’s appointment. But treatment is what people go to Heviz for. The room would have been tolerable if it weren't for the absolutely miserable beds and pillows. The room might not be cleaned for three days, and to change the towel you had to catch the maid. The food is very mediocre and monotonous. The quality of the food leaves much to be desired. We've been to other hotels twice before - this is the worst.

The cleaning of the room is disappointing, the bed linen was not changed during the 10 days of our stay, on Sunday the dirty towels lying on the floor were not changed, after the excursion we had to pick up the towels from the floor after the shower to dry ourselves - disgusting! The underwater massage procedure is performed without changing the water or washing the bath!!! When I realized this, I refused to continue the procedure! A common phenomenon in clinic service is that there are no disposable towels - this is inconvenient. What makes Karlovy Vary stand out?

The sanatorium building is old and shabby! The rooms are small, "killed"!!!! The mattresses are worn out, the pillows are felted! The walls are stained in some places. The doctor at the reception, to put it mildly, is NOT FRIENDLY, the staff (as in other places) understands little English (the main languages are Hungarian, German, RUSSIAN BAD). After prescribing the procedures, NO ONE helped find where the necessary rooms are located! When carrying out the MUD APPLICATIONS procedure, the staff INTENTIONALLY sent Russians (including me) to the department where men apply mud, despite the fact that they (women) had empty seats! At the same time, the STAFF (men) laughed loudly (naturally, they spoke Hungarian). But when YOU'RE NAKED AND THE MEN LAUGH ALMOST OUT OF YOUR VOICE AND ENCOURAGE YOU AND OTHER NAKED WOMEN WITH THE WORDS "Come on, come on!!!!" (The procedure is carried out in the common room)!!!! You feel, to put it mildly, NOT COZY, or rather DISGUSTING!!!!!! And this was not an isolated incident! The next day, they did the same with another woman - there was an opportunity to carry out the procedure by FEMALE staff, but after reading the sanatorium card, the staff with LOUD COMMENTS DIRECTED THE RUSSIAN WOMAN to the MALE staff!!!!! Terrible!!!!

The excellent location of the sanatorium - very close to the lake, an indoor passage to the wellness center, a stunning park on the way to the lake, swimming in a warm lake surrounded by lush greenery on the banks - all this creates an excellent mood and has a positive effect on the treatment process in the sanatorium. Everything that was included in the package as described was received. We were given vouchers for a daily visit to the lake for 3 hours/day, which is quite enough. The reception staff always responds positively to requests (they changed our room at our request, they gave us a fan in the heat), the maids add towels for swimming in the lake, the food is quite tasty. The price-quality ratio is quite consistent with the result.Negatives
The first room was disgusting - old and shabby, at our request they changed it to a renovated one, without additional payment. The rooms have no protection from the sun - the curtains are thin and do not help. The pillows are old, with lumpy cotton wool and half empty. The mud procedures are terrible: they herd 10-12 naked men into the hall and throw mud on the gray washed sheets on the trestle beds, the service is not friendly. By the way, these same three men also serve the female half and also according to the same principle. On the lake itself, the same procedures are carried out in individual cabins with a shower in each, so it is better to book there.

My friend and I were treated for 2 weeks. We were charged for the transfer in both directions at once, so we were nervous, but in vain, everything was explained to us later. We rested and received treatment in January, the weather was good. Every day we swam in the lake - water +25- +26. What I especially liked about the sanatorium is that it is connected by a gallery to the St. Andras hospital. In the cooler months, this allows you to wear a robe and slippers for treatments and to the pool. There were a lot of dissatisfied reviews on booking.com, so we booked with caution. However, the Internet worked well on the 8th floor, where we lived in a superior room. The rooms are renovated, with good plumbing, starting from the 5th floor. The hotel fully corresponds to the declared *** stars. The staff is very nice and attentive, the room was cleaned every day. Especially many thanks to the friendly Erika Kaufman, she was very helpful in communicating with the doctor, since she speaks Russian well, and also answered all the questions we had. We ordered a transfer on sanatoriums.com, everything was clearly organized, very polite and highly professional drivers Balos and Miklos took us to Heviz and back to Vienna.Negatives
You should probably change the pillows; after washing they dry out in clumps. True, there are additional small pads that did not reach this state and this compensated for the inconvenience.

The price is completely justified, the hotel is a little old, but you can live, as they say, anyway, 4 hours a day on the lake, another 3 hours of walking and more procedures in the medical center, so you don’t spend much time in the room. We were pleased with the room and the food too. The hotel staff tries their best, for which special thanks go to them.

For the price offered, it’s a very good hotel, the rooms, of course, need a major overhaul and the entire interior of the hotel as well, but if everything is redone and the price of the hotel will be different, and we actually only come to the lake, and we stopped at Panorama only to eat and sleep, although we went for some procedures at the medical center, which is attached to the hotel. I rate it a solid three.
