The complex of pathological manifestations of the extinction of reproductive function in women. Early symptoms include attacks of heat and sweating, headaches, tachycardia, unstable blood pressure, irritability, apathy, decreased sexual desire. After 1-2 years after the last menstruation, thinning of the mucous membranes of the urogenital system, pain during intercourse, urinary incontinence, dry skin, wrinkles, hair loss can develop. In the later stages (2-5 years after the last menstruation), menopausal syndrome manifests itself with atherosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, carbohydrate metabolism, hypertension, osteoporosis, impaired memory, vision, hearing. Menopausal syndrome is treated with hormone therapy (estrogens, gestagens), phytotherapy, nutrition and lifestyle adjustments.
