Treatment thyroid hyperfunction (hyperthyroidism, thyroid) in Marianske Lazne
Hyperthyroidism or thyrotoxicosis is a hormonal disorder characterized by increased thyroid gland function. In this condition, the thyroid gland is constantly overactive, producing excessive amounts of T3 and T4 hormones, enlarging in size, and thereby poisoning the body. Hyperthyroidism is the primary manifestation of conditions such as diffuse toxic goiter, thyrotoxic adenoma, and certain forms of autoimmune thyroiditis. To select a resort, it is necessary to determine the initial value of the thyroid gland's hormonal balance. Before traveling, it is recommended to undergo examination by an endocrinologist who will prescribe clinical tests: complete blood and urine analysis, thyroid ultrasound, determination of thyroid hormone levels, chest X-ray, and ECG. Patients with mild and moderate diffuse toxic goiter (after elimination of thyrotoxicosis) are sent for climate and balneotherapy to local resorts at any time of the year, and to southern seaside resorts excluding June-September. Contraindications: severe thyrotoxicosis.
