So, my stay in Druskininkai at SPA Mineral Draugyste is coming to an end. 10 days, from September 6 to 16, 2022 Relaxation, treatment, rest. Since this is my first time here in this capacity, and it’s a new institution, a new building, a new name, I decided to write in detail my impressions and feelings, since I know both enthusiastic reviews about this resort, and some others. The attitude of the majority of employees towards vacationers is encouraging. This is indisputable! Although there are exceptions, alas.. Well, I’ll start in order. The recommendations for traveling to the resort say that it is advisable to take with you a translation into Russian of the available examination reports. Translated. I brought it. The doctor didn't even read them. I explain that this is the recommendation of my neurologist and I ask you to start treatment with this. And the first thing they prescribe for me is lymphatic drainage of the legs 😄? Not bad either, but it would be better to deal with the pain first, and then everything else. It turns out that you have to be persistent. That’s what I did, and I got an appointment with a wonderful specialist. And he figured out the diagnosis and advised how to correct the procedures. Added and corrected... Many thanks to Mieczyslaw Shumskas! Low bow for professionalism. The main asset of Druskininkai is mineral waters and air. Each sanatorium has its own source. And drink water for the stomach and intestines, and take salt baths for general strengthening of the body, etc. Thank you Vida, always with a smile, always attentively giving mineral baths. Underwater massage, manual massage, swimming pool and SPA treatments - all in ordinary water. The pool is mentally chlorinated. We were unlucky with the pool, since the new pool under one roof at SPA Mineral Draugyste was launched in June, but... leaked. Renovations are underway and we had to go to the pool at the Draugyste sanatorium. Salt room, which is relevant now during the covid period. Either it’s broken, or they’ll let a lot of salt into the room, the ventilation between the next change of people is very short, 3-4 minutes, and in this stuffiness a new batch of those thirsting for healing sits again. It’s even difficult to evaluate the usefulness of this procedure in this version. Manual massage. Well, depending on your luck. Someone will stroke you, and on the weekend there was a massage therapist from the medical building of the Draugyste sanatorium (mostly local people are treated there, under the state program for rehabilitation), Ignatas, it seems. My back was burning, every muscle was gone. Thank you. Electrical procedures, lymphatic drainage. Thanks to Russa. The man is in his place. Nutrition. The food is good, but... it all depends on the shift. The change with the bartender Nieringa is great. Well, it seems like the same omelette, but this shift has it with some kind of green stuff, a vegetable, and the presentation is beautiful and fluffy... The same applies to other dishes. But the other shift was guilty of over-salting and managed to spoil good fish with salt more than once. Evening herbal tea is included in the procedures. The word tea already suggests that it should be warm. And he was warm, but only in Nieringa’s shift. But iced tea is somehow not the same.... Housing. The room is good, even with a small living room for drinking tea. Linen, towels, bathrobe, everything was changed, cleaning was done daily. Weather. According to statistics from past years, September is warm. So it was, but several days were rainy, and we “soured” in the pool - peeling, massage, seagulls. But overall, not bad. We came here for the third time and gasped! Beauty, everything is super!!!😀 We met you with a smile and checked in right away. The procedures are all in place, you don’t need to go anywhere. And even a robe with slippers for the convenience of going to new, wonderful procedures. Meals at the Muse restaurant take 2 hours, so there is no need to rush. The room had a closet with 4 hangers and that was it. There were simply no shelves to display clothes at all. Everything was kept in a suitcase. The coat had to be hung in the closet because there was no other place. The cabinet drawers are almost impossible to open due to the fact that it is very old. There is no hairdryer in the bathroom. There is also no socket. I will definitely return to Druskininkai, but NEVER again to the Drauguste sanatorium.

There is only one minus, but not for the sanatorium, but for those who organize a tour of Druskininkai (which is included in the package). Diana is responsible for this, but she does not do her job at all. During our 12 days stay, she never organized an excursion for us. When we called her and were indignant, a tour was scheduled for the next day at 17.00. On foot, in the cold, along the central alley near the church, that’s the whole excursion around Druskininkai😂

The sanatorium is mainly visited by residents of Lithuania, whom the state sends for rehabilitation, mainly elderly people, everything is always quiet and calm, they don’t go to the pools and it’s always semi-desert, which can be a plus. Doctors working with such a contingent are very wary of prescribing procedures... I practically had to beg, of course there are fewer procedures than promised in the package, on weekends only water procedures work, by the way, visiting the pool is also a procedure and only for an hour, not like promised in the package. If you arrive on Saturday, for example, as I did...doctors don’t work on weekends and everything hangs up until Monday, but they will still prescribe no more than six procedures a day, so I advise you to keep this in mind. Hygiene during procedures also leaves questions... everything is simple for their pensioners.

I especially want to highlight the masseuse Vilma, her hands work a miracle, she is an excellent specialist and a sensitive person. I lived in room 325 and the maid Laima not only cleaned perfectly, but also did it while I was leaving for procedures. The atmosphere in the sanatorium is conveyed by the fact that when I went barefoot for treatments on the first day, Laima, seeing me in the corridor, asked if I would be cold. Then I still didn’t know how the doors and offices were located, but I went to change my shoes and only when I went downstairs did I appreciate the hint. In winter, of course, you shouldn’t go for procedures like this. There is a library and concerts are held. The location is excellent: the river is nearby, the forest and the city center are 10 minutes on foot. Grocery stores are close. It is safe to walk in the evening. I lived in the main building and it was convenient in winter to go downstairs and go through all the procedures. There is also a dining room here. The comments are not about the sanatorium, they have nothing to do with this. Everything was great with the transfer, but I never got on the promised free excursion. At first Diana wrote that I had an appointment and they would call me, then they never called, a week passed. Then they set the date, time and place of the excursion. I went and looked at the place so as not to be late, canceled the procedure, and on the day of the excursion it was canceled, it was my last day of stay. If I had known right away that I wouldn’t get in, I would have gone myself; there are many excursions in the sanatorium.

The sanatorium is located in a quiet, cozy place, on the river bank, surrounded by a pine forest. All employees are professionals and masters of their craft. Excellent doctors, kinesiotherapists, physiotherapists, massage therapists... Very friendly, patient and responsive girls at the reception - they give a comprehensive answer to any question, always taking into account the wishes of vacationers. The food is always freshly prepared and varied, a very large selection of salads from fresh vegetables. Thank you for organizing a wonderful holiday and treatment!
