Note. The room did not correspond to what was on the website. It was smaller, and only with a shower. Although there should also be a bath. This means the price should be lower. But my appeal to the administration was somehow ignored, no reaction. And I paid I wasn’t at all what I expected. That’s why the holiday was spoiled. Never go to this hotel at your own expense, you are not welcome there, you are not needed there, they will not take care of you there. There are many hotels in Karlovy Vary in this price category where you will feel welcome. The family lived at the Tchaikovsky Palace Hotel from 10/30/2017 to 11/03/2017. Sanatorium-resort treatment involves staying at a resort for 2 weeks or more, but with such disgusting quality of food provided in the local “canteen” (I can’t call this concept of catering any other way), this is simply impossible. We couldn't wait for our stay there to end and it was all just because of the food, although we arrived for only 1 week: the food is tasteless, the food is monotonous, there is no choice, if you come 30 minutes before the end of lunch or dinner, then nothing else there is nothing left, even from what was there, and you have to ask for something to be prepared. The staff does this with great reluctance, but when the time comes for the end of breakfast, lunch or dinner, they begin to kick everyone out in a rude manner. We travel a lot, but we have never seen this anywhere; in all 4-star hotels, guests sit and calmly finish what is on their table. We went to the manager to complain about the work of the “canteen”, but she pretended that she was not interested in this and, moreover, that we were preventing her from doing very “important” things. In the Lobby Bar they poured sour wine for my husband. You can remember a lot of negative things about the quality of food this week....

Karlovy Vary itself is a wonderful place, beautiful, interesting, and provides a lot of opportunities for traveling around Europe, primarily to Germany. I don’t recommend traveling longer than 4 hours - it’s hard. And there is little time to get acquainted with the sights. The hotel is located in a comfortable area - springs, forest walks, and a little shopping are available. Also within walking distance are the beer bars "U Švejka", "Karl IV" and others (what is the Czech Republic without beer!!!). The majority of medical staff are attentive and helpful. However, there are also those who are simply mischievous. They turn a slight delay (5-7 minutes) into a crime against a person, they rant about punctuality, although getting to the hospital during rush hour is sometimes not easy (see the negative about elevators). The food is like in a normal sanatorium - healthy, but tasteless. Everything is steamed and boiled. But even this may not be enough (see negative). A good spa area with three baths (sauna, hammam, herbal) and cool showers (a la Charcot, rain) - for a fee!Negatives
Tchaikovsky Palace - has a very weak number of rooms. Of the 52 rooms, about 12 are good for stay. The rest: either windows on a noisy street with a bus stop, or the windows rest against the wall of the house, so the sun never peeks into the room (for the children of the dungeon, probably), or a thin wall separating the room from the stairs, along which, starting at 7 am the clicking of heels (sometimes you feel like someone is about to step on your head), or the strong smell of the kitchen (the ventilation from the kitchen is located exactly under the windows of the rooms on floor -2, you will know everything that is being prepared today, especially fish and onions). Those. the chances of a relaxing, full-fledged rest in the room are 25%. 75% for the fact that you will not find yourself in the most comfortable conditions. The situation is aggravated by elevators, which live their own independent lives. On floors -3 to 0, the chances of the elevator stopping on the way down are ZERO. You will have to ride to the 4th or 5th floor, and only then go down to the 6th (to the dining room). Or on foot, knocking on the heads of the neighbors behind the wall on the stairs (see above). CONCLUSION: Stay at Tchaikovsky! (Without Palace prefix). The savings for 2 weeks will be about 200 euros per person. But here the windows look out onto a quiet street, or at worst into the courtyard. However, all other services are absolutely the same. And medicine and nutrition. About the dining room (it’s hard to call it a restaurant): healthy, but bland. This is probably how it should be in a sanatorium. But at the same time, you cannot linger and come before closing. You simply won't have enough food. Surprisingly, there is practically no replenishment of dishes. They only replenish hot food, and even then it is very mediocre. If you run out of booths or bread, or some popular fruit, it is useless to ask for it. They will nod at you, maybe even say “I’ll take a look,” but they won’t bring anything. Even if there are 40 minutes until the end of the dining room. Therefore, hurry up, come first, then you will have enough of everything. But in this case there is a risk that you will not have enough space at the table. The dining room is small, with two tables always empty with a "Reserved" sign. For top managers, probably. To summarize what has been said: Tchaikovsky Palace can be rated 2+ or 3 out of 5 possible. You can only go to this hotel if you book a good room in advance. Otherwise, it’s just Tchaikovsky: saving money and lacking negative emotions.

We expected much more from a 4-star hotel in terms of service, the work of the reception is especially surprising: young girls are never there, they constantly smoke, if you ask them information about the city, it’s as if they are doing a favor with their answer. We asked for tea in the room - they can’t do it, wait for the bar to open at 16:30 and go down there, although there is an advertisement in the room that there is room service. The food was a C-minus, especially lunch and dinner - a lot of vinegar, nothing dietary, although we took dinners included and went to eat at restaurants in the area.

We booked a luxury suite on the sanatoriums website. We also booked a transfer there. We were worried, of course, since the offer from the site was much more favorable in price. But everything corresponded to the advertised prices and service. The room is two-room, very convenient in layout and content. The hotel is beautiful and cozy. The staff is wonderful, they do everything to make you feel like the most welcome guest of the resort. The food leaves much to be desired, the assortment is not bad, but somehow it’s not tasty... we went to local restaurants, tried branded varieties of Czech beer, knee. I liked absolutely everything. The sanatorium is well maintained, the rooms are well furnished and have everything you need. We lived in room 408. Beautiful view from the window of the city, the Church of Peter and Paul. The distance to the sources varies, depending on which one is assigned to you, but everything is within 10-20 minutes. The location is more for those who like to walk - on a hill. The legs run downhill to the colonnades on their own, but you have to work hard to get back. The same goes for the main shopping streets. All procedures were prescribed and included in the price, everything additional is paid. The doctor listens to wishes. The nurses in the medical department are simply sweet, always in a good mood, and understand everything in Russian. The food is excellent, a large selection of dishes, and everything is very tasty. Lots of fruits, different every day. For breakfast, porridge, eggs, yoghurt, cottage cheese, pastries, pancakes, sausages, several types of cheese, natural coffee in a coffee machine, various teas. I won’t describe the lunch, but it was also very varied and tasty. I recommend the sanatorium to everyone, and if possible, I will return there myself. I don’t see any reason to choose anything else if you want to return to the Tchaikovsky PalaceNegatives
More like a wish, rather than a negative - it would be possible to have a kettle in the room, I really want to drink some tea in the evening, but the restaurant is closed... no need to go out into the city for a mug of tea. The pillows are thin, but we asked for one more, and the maids immediately provided it. Two pillows were stuffed into one pillowcase and my husband was pleased.

The negative aspects are related to the cleaning (or non-cleaning) of the room - it was a clean "C". Sometimes the bathroom floor remained unwashed after cleaning. There are also complaints about the restaurant. It was simply impossible to look at the hake fish in the second week. Last year the food was more varied. Of course, no one demands shrimps and mussels, but you can still do something more varied.

Magnificent panoramic view. It’s not far from the springs - 5-10 minutes on foot, uphill and downhill. The rooms are clean, a pleasant fresh aroma in the room, towels are changed every day and the room is cleaned. The food was dietary and balanced, so I didn’t want any snacks, although it was somewhat monotonous. Very polite staff. The procedures are done with high quality, excellent massage. On the day of arrival, many vacationers were denied breakfast (after a long flight), because... They were a few minutes late for breakfast. Guests should be received more graciously. The food is not varied, like in a good Soviet canteen. The nurse who forms the procedure plan does not respond at all to requests to change anything.

The formal attitude of Dr. Hele Safarikova towards vacationers. The appointment lasted only 5 minutes once. She didn’t even bother to explain what procedures were prescribed and for what purpose. All procedures take no more than 15-20 minutes. Poor room cleaning, dust is not wiped off. In 2 weeks, the towels were changed once, the bathrobes were not changed. I didn’t like the range of food, there were few vegetable dishes and fruits. 3 star food. The WIFI in the room was disgusting, or rather there was practically none.

The doctor saw 2 of the paid 3 times from each (I took the child a voucher with treatment), the doctor didn’t ask anything in particular and the appointment was a pure formality, no examinations were carried out, so you have to go to this sanatorium with a ready-made diagnosis. The medical staff was mostly friendly, but there were some nuances. My daughter was sick and I asked her to listen, but the doctor and nurse refused, so I had to go to a local hospital to see a specialist. You also need to be prepared for this if you are vacationing with a child. Food at the resort is a buffet. The menu is the same every day, the range is not large and the serving leaves much to be desired. But overall the resort is pretty good
