My husband and I vacationed at the Radium Palace sanatorium in early May. In principle, I liked everything. We noticed that it was still cool and the radiators in the rooms were a little warm, it was very comfortable. The staff is very polite and friendly. The cleaning was carried out unobtrusively and conscientiously. The food is a solid B, you could add some baked goods in the evening. I visited this sanatorium 7 times, this year there was a problem with Russian-speaking doctors. They didn’t install a Cyrillic keyboard on the shared computer in two weeks, even after contacting the director! Seafood was excluded from the assortment, there were olives only once/in previous years they were there all the time/, the fish stated on the menu did not correspond to the name. The fish dishes were of very poor quality. The buffet reduced the quality of the dishes. At the reception, the young staff were not always kind.

The treatment program prescribed by the doctor does not contradict the wishes of the patients. It was my first time in Jáchymov, and I involuntarily compared it with another orthopedic sanatorium, and so far everything is in favor of Jáchymov: the quantity and quality of procedures are excellent (it’s too early to talk about effectiveness, they say it should take two or three weeks), the staff is attentive and kind. My leading doctor, Natalya Ruzheinikova, is an excellent, attentive diagnostician, a specialist with whom it is pleasant to communicate, thank you to her for the super treatment program, thought out specifically for my problem. The rooms are excellent, after renovation, in general - the whole hotel is like new, clean and well-maintained. My fears about the quality of WiFi were not confirmed: the Internet is good.Negatives
The problem of the sanatorium is the kitchen. Firstly, odors can be felt throughout the entire building, in all passages and corridors - this is unacceptable! Secondly, I was amazed, HOW can you manage to ruin ALL the meat dishes?! Despite the fact that Czech cuisine is simple and proven over the years?! - the meat is always dry, the fish is over-salted - is this called dietary food?! In short - “boss to hell!” The tables in the halls are small, seating four people at a time, elbow bumps cannot be avoided. A buffet for an orthopedic sanatorium is a dubious solution; the waiters exist only to “set and clear.” There is nothing in the bathrooms except soap: upon arrival, they put two cotton pads and a shower cap for three weeks, so you need to take the toilet with you.

Second time in this hotel. The first one was last year. During this time, the hotel underwent major renovations. I must note that even before this renovation, the condition of all premises and equipment was very good and was maintained at the proper level. After the renovation, the hotel began to look inside not 4, but 5 stars. Everywhere there is perfect cleanliness and order, from the rooms to the corridors, the hall, etc... We received not just a set of procedures, but exactly the set that we ourselves desired, based on many years of experience in sanatoriums in the Czech Republic. Excellent staff attitude, politeness and professionalism. Sufficient choice of dishes in the restaurant and very efficient work of the service staff. Quite a decent selection of available excursions. Well, actually, why are we going there... Everything is, of course, very individual and depends on a number of factors. I can only speak about myself personally. In 1988, I had a serious compression fracture of the spine. Those pains that got me to the sanatorium took me off for almost a year. Even if pain did appear after exercise, it was not as long lasting as before. For myself personally, I see a serious effect from visiting this sanatorium. Only due to the location of the hotel in an area with undeveloped infrastructure, there are some problems with the use of free time. In Jáchymov itself there is not much to do other than walks in nature. On the other hand, this can be attributed to positive factors - silence and nature. The hotel itself hosts many people from Arab countries. Their way of life is significantly different from representatives of European countries. And some things and actions that are apparently considered normal for them are simply unacceptable for us. There are very few such facts and I will not go into details, because... I wouldn’t really like to describe some of their actions. But I would like to simply give advice to the service personnel - sometimes to pull the “violators” back.

Unlike the quality of accommodation, the treatment leaves much to be desired. When booking Radium Palace half a year in advance, upon arrival we were missing some of the treatments we wanted. These procedures do not involve any complex special equipment. The number of these procedures can easily be increased by hiring 1-2 nurses. We are talking, for example, about dry CO2 baths. If you want to treat patients efficiently for the considerable sums that you receive from them, then you need to hire additional staff and satisfy the needs of the guests in full. If this task is impossible for you, then sell fewer trips. If you are unable to provide everyone with proper care and treatment. PS In addition, from this year guests are deprived of the opportunity to receive radon baths on Sunday for an additional payment (although last year there was such an opportunity). Here we are also talking about hiring 1-2 nurses. Despite the fact that their salary will more than pay for itself through the sale of these additional services (the bathtub costs more than 20 euros). If the Radium palace sanatorium had an owner (currently it is a state institution), then of course there would not be such connivance.
