We rested at the Richard Spa Hotel from 10/24/19 to 11/07/19. Thanks to Sanatoriums.com, our wishes for hotel accommodation were taken into account and, as always, transfer from the airport and back was very clearly organized. This is a spa hotel, so the procedures are not so much therapeutic as relaxing. The staff at the reception, in the spa, in the restaurant, and the maids are very friendly and attentive. During our stay, the guests at the hotel were mainly Czechs, Germans, and our former compatriots from Germany, everyone was polite and friendly. The food in the restaurant was very good, the breakfasts were ordinary, the dinners made to order were varied and tasty. It was very convenient how the snack was organized, if you have half board, from 11-30 to 13-30 you can come and have a snack with salad and soup.Negatives

The room is very small, there are cobwebs with spiders in the corners and on the windows. Bed linen has holes, towels are frayed at the edges. The refrigerator did not work well. The water in the shower was not hot enough and did not drain well. There were also complaints about the medical department. The massage is disgusting, light stroking with a lot of oil. For the “Dry carbon dioxide bath” procedure, blue garbage bags are used; they stink strongly. Other hotels use odorless white bags. The sheets on the couches are not changed and clients lie down on the same sheet, we think this is not hygienic. The request to change the sheet was refused. Even the doctor didn't help. One option each for the first and second courses. For dinner, a hot dish of your choice from the menu the day before. There are some minor complaints about the food. I will write about them below. The food was declared as dietary. Meanwhile, there was a lot of vinegar in the salah for lunch and dinner. Soups and some main courses were prepared very spicy, with a lot of gravy. This is not just my opinion. Many people often had complaints. I was surprised that there was practically no fruit, and this was in the fall. As for excursions, we did not take advantage of Elena’s suggestions. The excursion to Erfurt and Weimar, which I wanted to go on, was carried out only from Karlovy Vary, and therefore it was necessary to pay an additional 1,500 crowns for the car. It was also not possible to agree on other excursions. We corresponded with Elena on WhatsApp. There was some kind of misunderstanding. In addition, it is surprising that a lot of excursions are organized in Germany. However, a number of interesting sights of the Czech Republic are not covered by excursions, for example Karlštejn Castle. Near Marianske Lazne there is the Kynžvart Castle and the Tepla Monastery. Traveling on your own without a guide, despite the proximity, is uninteresting, difficult or expensive. I would like this issue to be resolved in the future.Positives

Wonderful 10 days in a beautiful country, a charming resort, flew by in a flash! I was pleased with the nice, cozy hotel, located next to the Orthodox church. I am grateful to the staff of the Richard Hotel, who made my stay in Marianske Lazne unforgettable. The hotel is located on a hill. What is not mentioned in sanatoriums advertisements. And the walk from the hotel to the colonnade is not 5 minutes, as they say in the sanatoriums, but from 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the walking speed, but not 5 minutes. The way back up is much more difficult and longer. There is no electric kettle in the rooms, which creates inconvenience.
