Positives

Regular and high-quality cleaning. The equipment for medical procedures, although old, is quite effective. Wellness treatments in the appropriate center can be purchased inexpensively, and massages in the city can be found even cheaper, and of good quality. (I recommend the Russian House). Excursions around the surrounding area only in Serbian, but we went and were satisfied, because you can read about everything that interested you on the Internet. Thanks to the doctor, nurses, waiters in the dining room and all the employees! Special thanks to the company “Sanatorium” for the excellent service.

Negatives

City authorities should pay attention to the stray dogs that infest the park near Merkur. They are not aggressive, but they interfere with sleep. The food could be tastier and more varied. There is no baking at all.

Positives

The sanatorium has a good location, an acceptable room, a beautiful location, the staff tries to help, despite the difficulties with the language, the people are good-natured and friendly. There is a desire to come again.

Negatives

Negative! Smoking in all places, including the sanatorium building, in the kitchen, depending on the shift, the cooks pour a lot of salt into the food (this is a sanatorium, after all), in the evening from 22.00 to 01.00 there is music from the restaurant opposite, it is impossible to sleep, and in the morning you need to get up early and go drink water, I recommend taking a room on the north side.

Positives

The service is generally good. The staff tries very hard. The hotel has a mineral water swimming pool with a jacuzzi, two saunas and a Turkish bath, which is convenient. Amazing mineral water "warm water". It's worth coming just for her. Mud therapy is also very high quality and affordable.

Negatives

The food is terrible. You can still choose something for breakfast and dinner, but lunch is like in a Soviet canteen. But it should be noted that there were enough fruits and vegetables.

Negatives

Staying at the sanatorium requires a medical and protective regime, which is not carried out in the Merkur sanatorium. It can only treat people who sleep 4 hours a day.

Positives

It probably depends on who is coming and why. A wonderful place, greenery, flowers, a huge park area. Wonderful people, attentive staff, there is always a lot of everything in the canteen and the staff tries to diversify it. There's really a lot of meat for men. I take food calmly, because I choose something dietary and I don’t want to talk too much about this topic. The procedures are good and there are many of them too. Therefore, those who really go for treatment will be happy. Just find out what procedures are available. They don't always say. We only found out 3 days before the end of our stay that the SPA pool is free for Mercur guests. And we accidentally saw paraffin for hands and asked to prescribe it. I definitely recommend it to women. Water of 4 types. Just follow her, walk. What a beautiful country!! Visit the most ancient monasteries. The people are welcoming. Thanks to all Serbs for the good, bright impressions!!!

Negatives

Probably July and in general there are too many people in the summer. Hydromassage is a very cool procedure, but if there are more than 8 people there, then it’s terrible. And they let in up to 16-17 people (I was so “lucky” on the last day. It’s good that I still went by 7-30 in the morning, the water was still clean. And my sister went by 11-30 o’clock. The water was already muddy. To be honest, it was already unpleasant. And it’s impossible to massage 15-16 people normally in half an hour. 7 minutes maximum. This issue can be regulated somehow. And the guys working there are very good. Also, something needs to be done about the night festivities in Vrnjacka Banja. Until 2-30 nights they play and sing in all the cafes and restaurants. And for some reason they think that a particular cafe or restaurant should outshine another. But the Serbs are loud-mouthed. Therefore, I can’t imagine how older people relax. I tried to put earplugs in my ears, and that didn't help. So we were happy until the opening of the next festival of young performers. We imagine that silence at night will be a short gift

Positives

1. You can quickly see a doctor and get a consultation 2. Friendly medical staff 3. Well-organized transportation from Belgrade to Varnjačka Banja. Especially on the way back, a neat and responsible best man. 4. Willnes staff is attentive and responsible

Negatives

Music plays very loudly in the evenings (maybe it’s nothing, it’s an old building, so you can hear everything) You can’t sleep without earplugs! Smoking is everywhere and everywhere😔 Toilets in Merkur are in poor condition, not in the rooms.

Positives

This is my 1st trip to the SPA resort. From the moment of placing the order until the end of my stay at the sanatorium, I felt attention and a desire to answer all our questions in order to dispel our fears and doubts. Thank you for your sensitivity and attention, for your responsiveness and warm attitude We were treated not only physically, but also mentally. Thank you for creating such conditions conducive to proper rest and recovery.

Negatives

Our room was on the 4th floor, there was a cafe below us and the cigarette smell sometimes reached us.

Positives

A good place. Park area number taken 28m. Quite decent. The balcony and the view from the window are pleasant. They checked us in right away and were kind. The room was cleaned daily and thoroughly.

Negatives

The shower in the room is very small. The kettle and trash can were brought only upon request. The treatment was weak. Behind. Massage and mud as well as lymphatic drainage need to be paid for. Underwater massage is a breed for such a procedure. Carry out for five minutes. The people who do it have no idea how to do it. The food is monotonous and most of them are not tasty. Procedures are not concentrated in one place. You need to run far in the rain. The water is also located far away. There is a swimming pool with mineral water. But the doctor does not recommend swimming in it. So there is nowhere to swim.

Negatives

We weren’t met at the airport in the middle of the night I had to find a hotel so as not to sit at the port until the morning I spent more than a hundred euros on a taxi and a hotel room I got to the Mercur resort on the second day I sent complaints to help No one responded about the resort I can say that the staff treated everything well with no understanding and the Sanatorium company did not respond to requests and treated me very badly

Positives

I liked everything very much: treatment, service, food, location of the hotel, several sources of mineral waters of different composition. Immediate response to any question. I recommend.

Negatives

There is an old, shabby cabinet in the bathroom, but it does not in any way affect the purpose of staying at the hotel. The unceremonious invasion of the room by the cleaning staff, almost without knocking, was very annoying.

Positives

A very good place for a relaxing holiday and treatment. Park, mountains, air - great! The food is good, home-style, warm and satisfying. Serbia and Serbs are self-sufficient, kind and sympathetic.

Negatives

The language barrier. To get the right treatment, you need the doctor to hear you and understand your problems.

Positives

The sanatorium is very bad, they only gave us a refrigerator on the fifth day, there are no electrical outlets, we had to turn something off and turn on the phone charger. The room was pitch dark. The staff doesn't speak Russian. I liked the nature, everything was very nice. The treatment is very bad, even massage is not included in the package of medical services. I will not recommend this resort to anyone. For a two-hour drive to the sanatorium, charging 100 euros is completely out of the question. My plane from St. Petersburg to Belgrade cost 24,000 rubles. I have never had any complaints against you, but now I simply have no words. I hope that the Czech Republic will be opened soon and we will fly there again for treatment. Sincerely, Sedova Margarita Borisovna.

I didn’t like that in the dining room they seated 4 people at small tables, my husband and I often looked for a table where we could sit and eat, it was annoying.

Positives

Very strong doctors, you can get an appointment with any specialist, but the cardiologist Vladan is just a bomb, I have never met such an experienced doctor, the appointment took 2 hours until he completely examined me.

Negatives

Opposite the sanatorium, across the linden alley, there are many restaurants, which is good, but their music can play until one in the morning - this is not pleasant.

Answer from Medical Spa Complex Merkur

Positives

A nice place. Decent mineral water.

Negatives

Very low level of treatment measures. In principle, there are none at all. There is something to compare with (Karlovy Vary, Rogaska Slatina, Piestany, even the Igalo Institute (Montenegro)). The level of doctors is lower than that of a paramedic (I am a doctor myself). They take tests without gloves, it feels like the Stone Age. The results of Laboratory Tests were not even all issued (I did not have the result of a urine test). Probably lost. The food in the sanatorium is disgusting: from the presentation to the assortment! We ate on our own. Even in Russia they have already given up semolina porridge for breakfast, but here, despite the leading profile - treatment of metabolic syndrome, diabetes - they continue to feed this unhealthy food. Guests are smoking all around! And this is a sanatorium! As for paid spa treatments - not bad. But we were going specifically for treatment, we could have chosen a hotel of a higher category and just as easily paid for it. Room cleaning is mediocre, very old bathrobes and unwashed towels with stains. I recommend the place itself, as I liked the natural factors, but never this sanatorium!

Positives

Location. Room cleaning. Pool.

Negatives

The number provided did not match the one posted on the website. Noisy plumbing. Torn hose in the shower. Instead of 3 declared procedures per day, two were provided, one of which (electro) was not recommended to me by my attending physicians. food quality is average.

Negatives

It is a pity that during our entire stay at the sanatorium, not once did the manager of the Sanatorium inquire about our problems. For some reason, in other countries (Hungary, Czech Republic) we met representatives.

Positives

I was on vacation at the sanatorium in February 2021. I arrived at 10 o’clock and was checked in right away! 30 minutes later I was already at the doctor’s appointment. There is a doctor who speaks Russian. They interviewed me, examined me, sent me to a physiotherapist, prescribed procedures and a drinking course. On the first day I started doing procedures. The procedural framework is large, it is advisable to know the language (English) to communicate with a physiotherapist in order to learn the full range of services. Although if you are only interested in free procedures, then they will be prescribed anyway. If desired, very good treatment can be arranged. There are a lot of people who want to be treated, sometimes we had to wait in line for procedures, but it’s not critical. Everything is streamlined, you have to sit with paraffin on your knees, and not lie under a blanket like in Russia, but for me this was not a problem. I did mud wraps + mineral pool (for a fee), I really liked it. The treatment helped me both for the musculoskeletal system and for the stomach. In terms of food: it’s good, yes, it’s not Turkey or the Dominican Republic, but everything is tasty, varied, and there’s a choice. Regarding the amount of salt in food, yes there is a lot of it, but these are features of the national cuisine, and the lack of professionalism of the cook. You won't go hungry. The location of the hotel is excellent! It's a 10-minute walk from the bus station, so there's no point in taking a taxi. The room was cleaned regularly, there was a balcony with a plastic chair on it, it was pleasant to sit, the weather was excellent, 15-20 degrees Celsius. The pool with thermal water is good and large. There is a sauna and hammam, a jacuzzi area. I went to the pool in the evening, after dinner, there were few people. Free time can only be spent walking or going to a cafe. Cafes are closed on weekends due to the pandemic.

Positives

Very attentive and responsive staff. Always polite. Always smiling. The difficulties of the language barrier are almost not felt. The sanatorium has a lot of diagnostic equipment (ultrasound, etc.). These are additional paid services, but the prices are pleasantly surprising. There are many doctors who are highly specialized. All are highly qualified. Many people know Russian. Accommodation in the rooms is normal. Nothing superfluous, but everything you need is there. Purely. Luxurious swimming pool with mineral water and sauna. Good physiotherapy and water treatments.

Negatives

I was a little unsatisfied with the food. All salads with a lot of vinegar. The main courses were very tasty, but too salty. It is clear that this is Serbian cuisine, but if you consider that people come for treatment, then the dishes should still be dietary.

18.10.2020

Positives

I rested in the sanatorium from 26/09 to 4/10/20. Due to the epidemic, the trip was not planned in advance and everything was ordered at the last minute. On the positive side, I would like to answer the very pleasant staff - everyone is always ready to help, despite the language problem (more on this in the cons), good food, excellent location, very nice pool (albeit small)

Negatives

Language problem. As I understand it, the sanatorium is designed mainly for locals, so the staff have difficulty speaking languages. One girl at the reception speaks more or less Russian, a couple more people speak English and that’s it. The medical staff is similar with languages - there is one doctor, a couple of Russian-speaking nurses and physiotherapists, but with the rest we had to communicate in a mixture of Russian, Serbian and other Slavic languages. The procedures are below any criticism, simply nothing compared to Lithuanian sanatoriums. Muds and massages are not included in the package and must be purchased in addition. The appointment procedure is very bureaucratic - first you need to go to an appointment with a therapist, she prescribes additional examinations (if necessary) and a course of drinking water, then you need to go to an appointment with a physiatrist (that’s what they call a physiotherapist) and she already prescribes procedures. It is not clear which procedures are available in the basic package (at least I did not find such information). They prescribe 3 procedures per day, the same thing every day. You can change it, but again with running around to doctors. I arrived on Saturday afternoon, had an appointment with a therapist in the evening, and only got to see the physiatrist on Monday. Accordingly, there were no procedures for 2 days (in principle they are not done on Sunday), but no one counts the total number or supplements it on weekdays. Some of the procedures are carried out in the medical building (it also contains mud, a paid swimming pool and a pump room next to it). From the main building to the treatment center the distance is about 400-500 m through the park. It’s nice to walk in warm weather, but in the rain... Perhaps, knowing the language, you can get quality treatment, but communicating with the staff is very difficult. About the pools - there are two of them. In the main building it is free, not very large, in the pool there are a couple of water cannons, a mini-pool-jacuzzi, two heated sunbeds, a dry sauna and a steam room (the steam room did not work, as I understand it, because of the epidemic), the water in the pool is mineral, but chlorinated, pleasant In the medical building there is a SPA center "Roman Spring", it has a small pool with mineral water from the Topla Voda spring with the smell of hydrogen sulfide, the water is quite cool, a small jacuzzi with warm ordinary water, heated sunbeds and sauna cabins (infrared, dry and steam room - the steam room was also closed) One visit is free, the price above this is 1000 dinars for guests of Merkur Accommodation. I lived in a single room. The room is very small, very "tired", like the building itself. Good for an overnight stay, but nothing more. Bottom line. The impressions remained mixed. Nice staff, very nice town, but everything else is completely below the stated level and prices.
