The result of staying and treatment in a sanatorium for 25 days is a severe exacerbation of chronic gastritis with large erosions, chronic pancreatitis, etc. Doctors suggested hospitalization. Doctors at the leading Moscow gastroenterology clinic also explained that these exacerbations are the result of improper, illiterate treatment in the sanatorium. Conclusion: this sanatorium is only for healthy people without gastrointestinal diseases. I will never go there again and I do not advise other people with gastrointestinal problems to go there..

I book a hotel through sanatoriums.com for the third time and am satisfied every time. Thank you. This is my fifth time staying at Wolkere. Quiet and cozy place. I went to Astoria for procedures. It's a three-minute walk to Astoria. The weather this year was pleasant, so walking after treatments or eating was a pleasure. Wi-Fi worked in the room. We liked the changes in Astoria: a tea room, a new room for gas injections and oxygen therapy, and an updated restaurant. The food is buffet, very convenient and varied.Negatives
It seems that there are not enough doctors in the sanatorium. Very long queues to see a doctor. I didn’t go for a follow-up appointment because... There were about eight people sitting near the office. And in the emergency department, nurses are hostile to requests to measure blood pressure. If this procedure is paid, I don't mind paying.

During our 10-day stay there was no electricity twice in Volker. It was especially difficult and unpleasant when this happened on the day of departure, since we, people with disabilities, were placed on the 5th floor. Many thanks to the male porter from Astoria, who helped with the luggage of 3 people and put us on the transfer; without his help this would have been impossible. There was no thought given to assistance with luggage upon arrival, registration in Astoria, and then it was not easy to carry the luggage to Volker on your own.

It was striking that about half of the tourists come to Astoria and Walker for the second, fifth and ninth time... My husband and I come to Karlovy Vary 2 times a year since 2008 and always come to this hotel, and every time we are pleased with the innovations, the Internet has already appeared in the rooms, the management plans to update the medical facilities: a salt cave is already being built. For the convenience of vacationers, a tea room will soon open, the hotel is switching from a custom menu to a buffet (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Among the medical staff, I would like to mention doctor Yaroslava Krabtsova, you can immediately see that the person is in the right place, nurse Zlatka is the best at doing underwater massage, and nurse Alena, who gives gas injections, is simply a professional in her field. There are no downsides, just a small wish that the hotel had a steelyard, so that you could weigh your suitcase, and not drag them to the Astoria, that’s probably the only inconvenience.

I liked everything very much! The center of the resort, all the springs and attractions are within walking distance. The Volker building is popular with regular customers. There are many opportunities to walk around the surrounding area and enjoy the views from the mountain. If desired, there are many excursions to Europe in your free time. The food is of a high standard, diets are followed. You can choose full board or half board, like me, with the combination of breakfast-lunch-dinner being what you need, the ability to replace any meal with dry rations. If half board, you can pay extra and you will have full board. The menu is varied, there are a lot of salads and greens. For breakfast, if you wish, they can additionally prepare you bacon or an omelet. All procedures are carried out strictly on time, you cannot be late, otherwise you will be lost! The package of procedures in the quantitative ratio of your stay is observed depending on the number of days. Drinking mineral water near the source is a whole ritual to the music of local musicians! I really liked the atmosphere at the Astoria Hotel - calm. aimed at providing convenience to vacationers undergoing procedures. The room is just what you need for sleeping after walks and excursions, the dining room is delicious without overeating and overloading - tasty and very polite: in a friendly way. The menu is very varied and there are always fresh vegetables and fruits in the morning, evening and lunch. The doctors are very attentive and meticulous - they even seem too trying to figure out how to help you so that you can rest and heal. Thanks to the hotel staff, the SANATORIUM website and everyone who convinced my wife and I that we will definitely be able to fly and come to Karlovy Vary for now! They have already written about the boorish behavior of a nurse with dark hair, without knowing her name. So, her name is Lenka. While she was on duty, I dared to disturb her and ask her to measure her blood pressure (by the way, for the first time in 5 visits to the sanatorium). This happened at 20-30, she was reclining in a chair and watching a movie. What have I not heard enough of! The next day, having told the head nurse about this, I was even more surprised by her reaction - it turns out that watching a movie while on duty is normal, but measuring your blood pressure - there are a lot of you here... So, draw your conclusions. I'll probably look for another sanatorium.

1. Made-to-order food (lunch, dinner) is frankly bad. Apparently, Astoria (Volker’s guests eat and are treated in Astoria) needs to change the cook. Fish, chicken breasts are overdried, buckwheat is undercooked, vegetable cutlets are in some kind of black overcooked breading, there is too much sugar in the white sauce, vinegar (or other acid) is added to pureed soups for some reason. In mid-August, overcooked frozen vegetables are served as a side dish. Drinks include only coffee (in the morning) and tea all day. Why not make light fruit drinks or compotes from seasonal live berries. I don’t know, I don’t seem to be picky, but the cooking doesn’t stand up to criticism. Moreover, this is the opinion of the majority of vacationers. This is the fly in the ointment.

The “classic massage” procedure, the massage therapist on the 4th floor (a young man) is a boor and a hack, I had to ask for a replacement massage therapist. Unfortunately, one procedure was lost, although it was not provided to the required extent. Food in the canteen: you didn’t eat porridge for breakfast today, but tomorrow you’ll get it in the form of a casserole. Cooks have a unique ability to ruin the simplest dish (spaghetti with cheese, for some reason it was poured with sour meat tomato sauce?, you can’t eat it; noodles with vegetables had a disgusting smell, you didn’t even dare touch it; milk rice porridge - the rice was not cooked, there was milk in this porridge no; oatmeal porridge is one big sticky lump, the unfortunate waitresses are forced to break this disgrace before offering it to vacationers) To understand, I have a low-purine diet (I can’t eat meat and fish, so I can’t provide reviews on these products)

A strange purpose of the procedures. It turned out that it was not a matter of quantity, but of price🤥out of the required 18, I received 11, because the doctor explained that oxygen therapy consumes 3 procedures and gas injections another 3😝. It’s difficult to park a car. In the last 3 days, it turned out that about Wolker still has a reserve parking lot in Astoria, but why does the owner of the nearest store park there? The doctor was not interested in the test results he brought with him. He prescribes approximately that he cannot do any harm.

I am very pleased with the treatment. Many thanks to Dr. Krabtsova. I received all the procedures I wanted. Thanks to nurses Radka, Veronika and Kristina, as well as the masseur Pavel. The maid Valentina from the Wolker hotel for her conscientious work, as well as the waitresses Natalya and Elena. I was pleasantly surprised when they congratulated me on my birthday with a bottle of wine. The food has become better compared to last year and in general there is positive changes. The management of the hotel has changed. The food is very good. You don’t have time to get hungry between meals. At the Wolker Hotel there is no hairdryer in the bathroom, there is no mirror in the room above the table and the packed lunch leaves much to be desired. Although this may be dictated by considerations of sanitary standards. It was noisy at the resort as there was a festival. If you want peace, do not choose the latter for your holiday week of June and first week of June.
