The sanatorium is wonderfully located, the city appears amazingly beautiful even in winter. For the first time in my life, I enjoyed walking not through flowering gardens and meadows, but through a city with beautiful buildings with exquisite architecture, clean and friendly for that alone. The Tepla River gives it a special charm, around which it is a great pleasure to walk even in cloudy weather. The exquisite apartments of the hotels and Astoria and Volker (in which we lived) are also a pleasure: it is not often that an ordinary Russian has to live in such mansions. The service in the dining room-restaurant is impeccable: any problems were resolved very quickly. I have lactose intolerance and they bought soy milk specially for me and served it to me with all meals. At my request, they did not sprinkle parsley on the food; I am allergic to it. If you don’t like the side dish, just indicate when ordering the one you like best. If necessary, they will cook what you want (for example, buckwheat porridge). For breakfast, if you want, they can make scrambled eggs. The menu is very varied and sufficiently dietary - nothing overcooked, fatty or salty. And everything is delicious. At all reception desks, all problems were always resolved - all the employees were like their own mother. As for the treatment, here too, it seems to me, they chose the right package of procedures: I arrived with such a strange problem, at first glance - I was suffocating, although my heart was fine and I never complained about my lungs. After a set of procedures - oxygen therapy, back massage and carbon dioxide mineral baths, I felt an absolutely magical feeling of light breathing - like in my youth (I'm 77 years old). True, not for long: apparently, just 2 weeks is clearly not enough. The nurse is on duty, it seems, around the clock. There are also disadvantages: the effect of mineral water is not entirely clear (for me it was spring 11 “Svoboda”), which I also attributed to my short stay in Karlovy Vary: after 10 days I began to have a slight (but quite unpleasant) heartburn, which is not I've had it for almost 60 years and it still hasn't gone away. And secondly: during my appointment with the doctor on the first day, I asked her if they would give me a certificate about what and how many procedures I would undergo here, so that they would pay me at AOK (I live in Stuttgart). The doctor assured me that, of course, in German. But when I came on Saturday before leaving to receive a certificate, it turned out that I should have said the word “Rechnung” not to the doctor, but to the SENIOR nurse. True, they promised me that they would send me a certificate on Monday.

My husband and I really enjoyed our treatment and stay at the Wolker - Astoria Hotel. The regime for taking procedures is perfectly organized, the staff works well and harmoniously, the attitude towards vacationers is friendly, and the medical staff is highly professional. And I would especially like to note the wonderful work of the chefs. The dietary table was impeccable. In general, I liked the rest plus the treatment; I didn’t focus on minor troubles, so as not to spoil my vacation with nagging, but to enjoy what I had. The location of the hotel is wonderful, there are springs with water nearby, you have to go to another hotel for meals and treatments, for me this was only a plus, but the fact that you have to hunt for the Internet is a minus... ;). I would return there, but I don’t like to repeat myself, it’s interesting to see how it is in other hotels. A city of fabulous beauty. I will try to objectively convey my impressions of Volker. Of course, its undoubted advantage is its location. I specifically thought: from the entrance to the hotel to the Geyser spring there are literally 20 steps. If someone is prescribed to drink from the geyser, it is ideal to live in Volker. The main colonnade is exactly 1 minute walk away. The atmosphere inside is very pleasant, the interior is made of wood, beautiful paintings, large spacious rooms. We lived in a double room, an excellent room, with a large bathroom and shower. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows too. We slept like babies. By the way, the hotel is quiet. Very nice quiet atmosphere. For treatment and food you need to go to the Astoria sanatorium, the time is literally 2-3 minutes. The food is normal, the emphasis is also on diet, the menu contains dietary dishes. For breakfast, the choice is not very large, cheeses, sausages, sausages (fatty) and omelettes, plus pastries, and other small things. You won't get too upset. For lunch there is a choice of 3-4 salads, delicious soup, meat, side dishes, and fruit. Lunch is tastier than breakfast. In the evening they also served delicious dishes; you choose a menu for two days in advance. The treatment is good, all procedures are done carefully, on time, there are no queues, well, maybe there have never been a couple of people in front of the office. All procedures were also carried out at the Astoria balneocenter. The staff is polite everywhere. I don't agree with the previous review. This is nonsense about the rudeness of the staff. All guests said that the staff was adequate. In general, the conclusion is this: a decent hotel, better than many others.Negatives
The Internet was said at the reception that it was throughout the hotel, but in fact only on the 1st floor. When we checked in in the evening, there was no hot water in the shower and in the morning it was barely warm. I didn't find any other cons.

The incompetence of the medical staff is simply amazing. The rudeness and rudeness towards Russian guests is surprising, while the smile and attention to the same with Russians, but with American passports. The food is simply terrible and inedible, what is surprising is that the food is good, but it is prepared ineptly. Very salty, overcooked food, monotony on the menu. The procedures are done carelessly, there is no interest, they snap at you if you ask for anything or say that the procedure is less than the appointed time. If you get to nurse Mirka, then just run, she couldn’t take blood from my veins, although my veins are perfect and I’m under 30 years old, that is, they are clearly visible. I picked at it for so long that almost a month passed, and my inflammation did not go away. There is absolutely zero in medications and treatment. With my humanities education, I know more than she does. There is a road under the hotel and cars are constantly making noise, even at night, especially a garbage truck, which woke us up every day at 5 am, emptying the bins under the window. This is such an unpleasant experience.
