I rested in a sanatorium in Kalovy Vary at the Colonada Hotel from May 7 to May 31. Compared to the pre-Covid period, little has changed. It was a difficult period for the hotel, you can feel it. The staff has changed. We have optimized the procedures, but it has become more convenient for vacationers. The food is usual for hotels of this class, a buffet, but I was pleasantly surprised by the personal menu for each client for dinner. Variety of evening dishes. You can order dishes from a pre-provided menu. All the staff are very polite. The manager, Krestina, is simply in her place, responsive, positive, and will find an approach to everyone. You rarely see such an attitude when a person works with soul and dedication. She never gets discouraged, even when she’s tired. I especially want to note the work of Dr. Tatyana Bocharova. Despite the heavy workload (I saw 50 people in one short shift), she listens carefully to everyone and prescribes treatment. When I was there, the age of the vacationers was quite advanced, that is, people need to talk and tell about the accumulated diseases. The contingent is not easy). Dr. Bocharova literally saved me. My hypertension suddenly worsened sharply, 220/140. She prescribed treatment and kept me on track until my departure. I prescribed a course of treatment and I feel great now. I thank the company Sanatorius.com. Wonderful punctual transfer upon arrival. An employee of the company found the opportunity for me to order a return transfer, although I made the request only in the evening, the day before departure. I also liked the excursions. The location is excellent, the rooms are large and comfortable, we had a room overlooking the Colonade. The mattresses are comfortable (my back appreciated them), the pillows are not comfortable, but I asked and they brought me extra ones. The rooms are cleaned every day, towels are changed regularly (on request if they are thrown on the floor). I should especially note the work of Christina, on whose fragile shoulders work in all areas of services is shouldered - treatment, dining, accommodation. In short, Christina solves all issues. Now about the shortcomings, and there are quite a few of them. Most of the procedures announced in the description on the sanatorium website are missing. upon entry, we were told that out of 24 procedures, 4 were “active” (this was not written anywhere in advance). What does active mean: yoga, aerobics, dancing. 20 left (Saturday, Sunday closed). 2 procedures a day is very little. The time of the procedures will be assigned manually (Christina). Our time was 7:30, which meant we had to be there before breakfast because there were lines later. I got sick and had to see a doctor at the sanatorium. Doctor Tatyana was not happy with the fact that I paid for the visit to her through the hotel lobby and not to her personally. For the prescription, I paid 5 euros to the doctor personally (I was given a lecture on how difficult it is to get forms and she pays for them out of her own pocket). Now the food - breakfast is normal but monotonous (no one will remain hungry). Huge queues at the coffee machine. Lunches and dinners are simply terrible. Salads are made from breakfast leftovers and generously seasoned with mayonnaise (“diet”), the portions are small (2-3 small cubes of meat) but there is plenty of meat sauce. The food is disgusting. Constant shortage of some dishes. It feels like a strict food economy regime with a terrible cook. Now the treatment.. Here, too, there is an absolute discrepancy with the availability of procedures stated on the website. There is simply no one to do half the procedures. There is not enough staff and only about 7 or 8 procedures were left out of everything that is in the description of the sanatorium. I highly recommend the Colonnade Spa Hotel, which is located a few steps from the springs. I've been vacationing here for many years, but this time it was especially pleasant. Special thanks to Christina, the hotel administrator, for her willingness to resolve all issues. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The kitchen has a homely atmosphere. The food is delicious, especially breakfast. Every morning I looked forward to the hot croissants that Sisi brought. I rested for 14 days in a superior room with a beautiful view of the colonnade on the river and the gazebo with spring 11. The room and bathroom are very spacious, clean, the bed was changed regularly. Thanks to the medical staff, the procedures were very pleasant. We rented an apartment for a week, very large, 60-70 m2, soft comfortable furniture, two sofas, comfortable armchairs and soft chairs of all sizes everywhere, coffee tables, a desk-bureau, two 55" TVs, wardrobes, mirrored display cases, carpet on the floor. The cleaning is clean, the staff is very polite and friendly. The shower is large, a bidet, everything is comfortable. The radiators are hot, it’s warm. The treatment is satisfactory, in principle it’s standard, but that’s what was expected. We didn’t take a transfer, we arrived by car, loading and unloading near the hotel. Music in the evening , piano (not always). There is a bar with cocktails. The hall is cozy, there is a sauna and a swimming pool, not everyone goes, so there seemed to be enough space. Does not apply to the Colonnade Hotel, the issue of parking. Of course, this is the center of the resort area, so there is no parking at the hotel. Nearby is the Thermal Hotel, not very friendly people and the parking lot is a bit dirty. They charge 20 euros per day, when you leave, when you arrive, you pay more. You can overpay more than 20 euros without any problems. Then, after discussing it at the parking counter, they suggested that you need to buy a plastic parking card and then you won’t overpay. Breakfast without any complaints. Lunch and dinner are absolutely unsatisfactory. For lunch only soups. For dinner, food must be pre-ordered, very small portions, products of questionable quality. Even the wait staff finds it difficult to say what dish he brought. On Wednesday they said that from now on it will not be possible to get cappuccino at lunch and dinner. When asked why, in response, I quote: “if you don’t like something, complain to your superiors.”
