The initial doctor visit and evaluation were rather formal and lacked a personalized approach. The 24/7 nurse station was manned sometimes by a very busy and sometimes overwhelmed person, who looked under qualified. There were no attempts to monitor progress of the provided treatments. We found out about the resort from our friends, and I'd suggest to make information about the sanatorium more widely available by providing it in printed and digital formats in the US in English and Russian languages including community centers.

We stayed for 2 weeks in July-August 2018. Check-in and accommodation: Extremely welcoming and friendly staff at check-in. We were greeted very well, explained the hotel's operating hours and procedures, were immediately accommodated, and fed a delicious dinner, despite the fact that we arrived a little after the dining room closed. During our stay, we contacted the administrators at registration several times and invariably received help. We are very grateful to all hotel administrators. The rooms are very good, air conditioning, large TV (several Russian channels), stable Wi-Fi, safe, refrigerator, electric kettle. Our room had a balcony. Meals: 3 times a day, all 3 times there was a buffet. The food is good, for all tastes, for breakfast there is always freshly squeezed juice of 4 types. Some of the meat dishes were sometimes a little too salty for my taste, but otherwise no complaints. The restaurant staff is excellent. A pianist plays in the evenings and creates a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. Treatment: very well organized, all procedures began on time, with the exception of gas injections, perhaps the most popular procedure in the hotel. There is a long queue for coupons, some patients take coupons with a reserve, creating confusion as a result of the delay. Staff: Some maids are lukewarm about their duties, we even asked to replace ours with a more thorough one, and we were happy with the new one. The rest of the staff is excellent, almost everyone speaks Russian. Hotel: It helps a lot that it is a chain of hotels connected to each other. As a result, all procedures are within walking distance, and their variety is pleasantly surprising. The pool is very good, there are several types of saunas, and if you want variety, you can go to the Nové Lazne hotel and try their “Roman Baths”.Negatives
The only nuisance that mars your stay at the hotel are balcony smokers. Smoking is prohibited in the hotel rooms, so some smokers go out onto the balconies to smoke at any time of the day or night. Against the backdrop of the wonderful mountain air of the resort, cigarette smoke feels very acrid, especially to those who sleep with open windows. The administration is fighting balcony smokers mainly with warnings, but I hope that more stringent measures will be taken against violators, especially since there are specially designated areas for smokers in the hotel.

Add activia yogurt and dark muesli. Add more fruit and especially watermelon. There were very few fruits and only orange or grapefruit, which not everyone likes. There were also very few types of cheese and the taste was so-so. I won’t say that the food at dinner is superb, I’ve stayed in other hotels and can compare. It wouldn’t hurt for the hotel to include meals at dinner to choose from the menu (a la carte) - this is practiced in other Marianki hotels.

If I may, a few comments (although overall this did not affect the impressions of the holiday). 1. I don’t know whether the manager who compiled the schedule of medical procedures has a medical education, but it was drawn up so tightly that there was a need to sacrifice either a drinking course or lunch - otherwise you wouldn’t have time (more often, of course, water). 2. It is not good for a four-star hotel to have linen (towels) with holes. During the ten days of our stay this happened twice. There are probably people who should keep an eye on this. 3. The work of a maid - it seemed like she was cleaning every day, but my room was always clean, so the appearance of cleaning was created more often; the minibar and consumables in the bathroom were not always replenished. 1) too many procedures are applied for and paid for 2) when applying a paraffin compress to your hands, there is no heat applied to the compressed area! You are supposed to cover or wrap your hands with at least a towel. This is simply profanity! 3) for such a profile of the sanatorium, the restaurant menu has too much FRIED, TOMATO, meat and chicken in very strange sauces, VERY STRONG AND SALT BROTH, A LOT OF SWEET BAKED 3! ONCE A DAY. One day the menu was excellent: tasty, not strong soups, boiled good vegetables (mashed potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower), several dietary dishes and meat and poultry - and there were tags in the salad bar. The quality of food leaves much to be desired. Very few dietary options. There are no steamed dishes at all. There is a lot of fried food, which has a bad effect on the digestive system. There is very little fruit, although the period of our stay coincides with their mass ripening. We repeatedly had to ask the waiters to bring out fruit, after which they brought out only a few pieces at a time. It would be very nice if the restaurant had a modern coffee machine for preparing drinks. The quality of the coffee and tea bags served leaves much to be desired. When we arrived at the sanatorium, we were left behind no dinner. The negligent attitude of the reception staff who met us and processed us. They could have offered us to have dinner first and then do the paperwork. They brought us an inedible dry ration to our room instead of the dinner we were supposed to have.

Gas injections in this sanatorium only 5 days a week, on Friday until 13.30. I arrived on Friday at 3 pm and waited until Monday. It’s not very convenient, I only go for injections. I know that some hotels do this on Saturdays.

We visited Marianske Lazne for the first time on the recommendation of our friends. We liked absolutely everything: the city is small but very beautiful, the hotel "Hvezda" is very close to the Colonnade with mineral springs, all the staff of our hotel are very hospitable, the food in the restaurant was varied and tasty, plus a huge swimming pool, sauna, etc. All the procedures prescribed to us are excellent!
