The highlight of the spa hotel is, of course, its medical and health department, where special procedures are offered, which are presented in individual sanatoriums of the resort. For example: circular douche, intestinal lavage, ascending douche for the treatment of prostatitis. Meals are balanced, each guest will find for himself what suits him best, especially since it is possible to prepare various dietary meals after consulting a doctor. The only drawback may seem to be a small descent/ascent, along which the road to the sources runs, but you can bypass the church on the other side, where the road is more gentle.

It is also possible to book accommodation in a free-standing depandans "Festival", which is 110 meters, where guests can only stay, but eat and receive treatments in the main building. There is no swimming pool at the hotel, but there is a jacuzzi, several saunas, weight machines and a relaxation area. The medical department of the spa hotel is supplied with thermal water from the spring "Hot" for various water procedures such as carbon dioxide, pearl and mud baths. The department also offers classic Carlsbad procedures: gas injections, dry carbon dioxide baths, electrotherapy, massages. There are such procedures as extremer and colonoscopy on the basis of thermal water, such services are not available in all spa hotels. There is a doctor working in the department on a permanent basis.

The health resort's medical facilities are considered to be one of the best in Karlovy Vary. The advantage of the therapeutic department is the availability of thermal water from the Hot Spring for some water procedures. Even though the resort Karlovy Vary specializes in the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal system and metabolic problems, it offers treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular, respiratory system and some skin disease. In addition to classical spa treatments, there is also cryotherapy and floating treatment, which is a capsule of water containing salts from the Dead Sea, which, in addition to relaxation effects, has a curative effect on the musculoskeletal system, nervous system and skin. I would especially like to mention the medical staff, namely its chief physician Vera Shlaysova, as well as physiotherapist Tamash and nurse Yana, who have been working at the spa hotel for many years, treating patients with care and conducting professional procedures. The disadvantage of the spa hotel is that the balneology department and swimming pools can only be accessed by stairs, electric kettles and tea sets are available only for rooms in the main building.

There are only 18 rooms in the hotel “Star”, which guarantees a quiet peaceful stay and a personal approach to each guest. All rooms are in excellent condition, equipped with everything necessary, especially I want to note the presence of a climate control system in all rooms. Of the minuses - the lack of balconies in all rooms. Food is standard, a good choice, always in the range of fresh vegetables and fruits, herbs, dairy products. If necessary, dietary meals are prepared for the guest. Spa hotel "Star" has its own small medical department, where there is no thermal water. The range of procedures is highly limited. If you come to Karlovy Vary mainly for the sake of therapeutic drinking springs, while you want novelty and comfort and you do not like the bustle of big hotels, then we advise you to consider the Star Spa Hotel.
