The only thing is that the massage therapist is rather weak (girl). The massage is more relaxing than therapeutic. Unfortunately, during my stay the main doctor, who is highly praised, was on sick leave, and I was not very happy with his replacement. Although I brought all my tests and extracts from my medical records with me, he didn’t really look at them and it seemed like he prescribed standard treatment. It's good that in the end it still suited me)))

My husband and I have been coming to Karlovy Vary for the May holidays for several years. This is our first time at the spa-hotel "IRIS" 4*, because it opened after restoration in the summer of 2016. Previously we stayed at "Villa Ritter" 4+. Due to the change in the hotel concept - preference for vegans, with group meditation, redevelopment of “our castle” (as we called it) and the transfer of medical staff to the IRIS hotel, I, as a doctor, preferred classic “treatment” and qualified staff: doctor and chief physician Yuri Onishko, head nurse Mrs. Tanechka, Natasha from the Villa Ritter hotel and the same professionals who took care of us: Yaroslav, Alla, Lena and many others. The sanatorium is located on a fairly quiet street, but at the same time only a 5-10 minute walk to the springs. Very comfortable rooms, wonderful staff. I don’t have any serious illnesses, so I can’t say much about the therapeutic effect yet. But I fully achieved my goal of just relaxing and relaxing in a week. Massages, baths and walks to the spring were just what we needed. I don’t want to write the following as a negative, but simply as a wish. I was with children and two other couples. In general, the dishes for adults were, although dietary, very tasty. And the choice of 6 dishes (not counting soups, salads and dessert on the buffet) was, in my opinion, varied for adults. We took 3 meals a day and did not regret it; for such a price, nowhere else can you eat such a delicious first, second and dessert. But my children were very happy with the delicious chicken legs and mashed potatoes, but did not want to eat beef or fish. Although I understand that there are so many tastes that you can’t please everyone. But it may still be possible, when there are children in the hotel, to add some children’s dish to the menu, even if it is repeated. And even the children asked when we could come to your sanatorium again. They also really liked the treatments and the salt room.

The hotel is supplied with water from the first source. Therefore, if you don’t have time, you can drink some water right at the hotel. The mineral baths are also very good. The food is beyond praise. The portions are very large, everything, even dietary dishes, is presented and prepared so deliciously that it is very difficult to refuse or eat some of it. For lunch and dinner, hot dishes are selected the day before from the menu - six options to choose from and the side dish can be changed. The hotel provides umbrellas and walking sticks, which is very convenient. The hotel has a chlorine-free pool with sea salt, where it is very pleasant to swim.Negatives
The downside of the stay was the absence of a doctor due to illness. It's a pity, we chose the hotel precisely because of him. As a result, upon arrival, I was examined by a visiting doctor, but there was no final examination or final recommendation at all. The test results were simply handed out, the doctor did not see them and did not make any adjustments to the prescription. Another downside was the huge portions. And since everything was very tasty prepared and beautifully served, it took enormous willpower not to get better😊 and even wonderful walks through the forest did not help. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have freely accessible scales (only in the doctor's office, which is closed). Therefore, there were problems with weight control.
