There are few minuses - the interior of the hotel and the rooms are quite modest, a little shabby, unfortunately, on Saturday, unlike other sanatoriums, the medical staff does not work, there is not even a nurse on duty, so if the patient becomes ill, there is no one to turn to for help (not to mention Sunday). So on the weekend, medical life comes to a standstill. A healthy person will not notice this, but an unhealthy person may experience a problem.

We rested with my husband in March 2016. Our double room, ordered through the website sanatoriums.com, turned out to be a two-room suite, with antique furniture and a bathroom with a jacuzzi. Towels were changed daily. Much has already been written about the excellent food at this hotel, thanks to the chefs. The head nurse was very attentive to our requests, without any problems changing the procedures during treatment that we asked for. Respect to her too.Negatives
An unpleasant aftertaste from staying in this hotel was left by: - a doctor who, without delving into your ailments, prescribes everyone to drink water from springs 6 and 11 and tries to sell “exclusive tablets”, which are cheaper and better at the nearby St. Mary’s pharmacy composition; - problems with hot water, due to which several procedures were canceled and its frequent absence in the room. The director did her best to avoid a meeting to clarify the situation with this problem. - I had to prove my right to the number of procedures that was indicated and paid for in the reservation application; for some reason, the “drinking course” was also considered as separate procedures.

This was my second time in this hotel. In 2015 - in a single room, in 2016 - my sister and I were in a double room. The hotel is small, cozy, there are not many people, there is no fuss in the restaurant or during procedures, which gives you the opportunity to take a break from the crazy rhythm of the big city. Close to the springs (approximately 7 minutes to the 6th spring). The price-quality ratio is adequate. The medical staff and the staff in the restaurant, the service staff and at the reception are welcoming and friendly. The second visit was like visiting old friends. The food is tasty and fairly large portions. Cereal breakfasts are organized when you go on excursions, dinner is left at the reception if you return late after a trip, and it’s very gratifying that they take care of you. The town of Karlovy Vary itself leaves a good impression on me personally, it is small, cozy, calm, its surroundings and numerous hotels look picturesque. The air is clean and fresh.Negatives

Perhaps I would like the doctor to spend a little more time during the examination, especially if the person came to the hotel for the first time, and somehow comment on the proposed procedures and clarify possible contraindications to them. It was disappointing that on this visit the main source - the geyser - was under restoration and there was no opportunity to admire it and breathe in it.

I liked the spa hotel for its location, close to mineral water sources, next to the resort center and a pedestrian area with many cafes. The hotel is small, old built with beautiful architecture and not renovated. With the Internet. We lived in a double room, very spacious, overlooking the river and the Thermal Hotel (a separate bathroom from the bathroom is a good plus). Very large bed, clean linen, towels, bathrobes (no slippers). We had two meals a day, there was enough food for us. The ordering system is convenient, we sometimes ordered dinner, sometimes lunch, so that we could try Czech cuisine in other places. I must say that the food in the Elva Hotel restaurant: assortment, quality, volume - is at the proper level. However, on Saturday morning, there were no white cones for breakfast (traditionally served for breakfast). They explained that it was a day off and fed us dark bread. There were always fruits: apples. tangerines, dessert. The treatment is good, but the choice of procedures is small. The medical staff is diligent and attentive, especially the masseuse Vladislava and nurse Vera. Especially Vera, she does all the procedures alone, manages to spin like a squirrel in a wheel. Everyone speaks Russian. And it is important that the cost of stay and treatment is very affordable. Quiet, calm environment, no queues for treatments, like in large spa hotels. Friendly employees at the reception. You can smoke in the bar on the 0th floor (for those who are concerned about this topic).Negatives
When choosing a sanatorium, we read the reviews and knew that in January in Elva there were breakdowns in the heating system and problems with heating and hot water. But we didn’t expect that these problems would affect us in March! It was cold in the building, in the room (then they warmed up the room). Bathing procedures were cancelled, although they were replaced with others, i.e. obligations regarding the number of procedures were fulfilled. But problems with hot water remained and created inconvenience. Moreover, she disappeared on weekends. The staff explained everything to us by the same breakdown of the system, but we understood that this was basic savings. In the bathroom - disposable shampoo and soap, no gels, no balms (But there were 2 hair dryers). The hotel is in need of renovation and updating.

If you want trouble, come here! From December 31 to January 3, the restaurant did not serve white bread, the answer was: “You are relaxing - we want to relax too!”, toiletries were not served in the room - soap and shampoo. On January 5, there was a heating system failure, as a result of which the heating was turned off in almost all rooms (as it turned out, for 4 days). After spending 2 days in a cold room, I expressed my complaints to the hotel director, who moved me from a single to a double room, but the next day it was turned off there too. To the question of the plumber, who is the director’s husband: “Well, is it hot?”, he answered that it was cold and heard from a representative of the once fraternal people in his native language, which is similar to ours, something like the following: What do you think, that if you pay, then can you make a claim? It’s minus 17 in Russia, but it’s not cold here (at night the temperature outside dropped to minus 8), we could have been patient. Go to Germany or Crimea or the Caucasus if you don’t like it. I asked him to switch to Russian. Moved to: “Go fuck yourself!” The employee’s monologue was retold to the hotel director. There was no reaction, there were no apologies, however, in the evening they gave me warmth. The hotel is low-budget and if it were not for the rudeness of some of the employees and the indifference of the administration, it is quite possible to come again. После его ремонта отопление появилось, но отель прогревался медленно, так как его невозможно прогреть быстро. We rested from December 15 to December 30, 2015. Every day was pleasant and joyful. At ELVE it is pleasant to communicate with the staff: they are smiling, resolve any questions that arise quickly, are responsive - they try to help with any request. The treatment is sufficient, and most importantly, everything is very close to the room (in a robe, slippers). Everything is prompt. The food is excellent. We paid for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a buffet. Dinner upon request, very large portions. I really liked the location: the springs are almost nearby; opposite Dvorak Gardens; left. around the corner, the beginning of Masaryk Street, with shops, etc.; to the right along the river there are endless “beauties” for walks along historical buildings, springs, a geyser and of course shops, cafes, etc. The city bus station (Trizhnitsa) is 600 m away. From the windows of the room you could see the New Year tree installed at the THERMAL hotel. New Year's trade, children's entertainment, etc. were also located there. Maybe that's why we especially felt the atmosphere of Christmas and New Year! We thank the ELVA hotel team for our great stay!

We stayed at the Elwa Spa Hotel from December 21 to December 30 with full board food and treatment. Over these days we have become so accustomed to the hotel - we felt at home. Each time we came to a cozy, warm two-room suite - a large bed in the bedroom - we slept great, a cozy living room - a comfortable sofa and armchairs, where we whiled away the time between procedures watching the TV, which showed a bunch of Russian channels. Go close to the springs and drink some water before eating. The food in the restaurant is excellent, everything was beautiful and tasty and fulfilled every desire of the client. The homely atmosphere was also felt because there were few rooms in the hotel - everyone knew each other, greeted each other in the dining room, got to know each other and communicated. Before lunch we were busy with procedures, after lunch I advise everyone to walk and explore all corners of the beautiful city of Karlovy Vary. Along the Tepla River all the way to the Richmond Hotel and 14th Spring. Climb the Tower of Diana, climb the stairs at the Church of Mary Magdalene behind the geyser to the gazebo with a cat and you will have the most beautiful view of the city. Walk to the Church of Peter and Paul. Of the numerous excursions, while all the nurses were resting on Christmas Day, we went to Nuremberg and Bamberg - very beautiful places. I would also like to mention the wonderful transfer drivers from the website Sanatoriums.com - they drove us to the hotel and to the airport very quickly (faster than on a regular bus) in the most beautiful cars (faster than on a regular bus). For us, all these negatives, which were written about earlier, in the form of peeling window frames and slightly shabby upholstery, were completely redeemed by the historically beautiful building, furnishings, stucco on the ceiling, sculptures, chandeliers. And most importantly, everything was clean and everything worked. The room is warm and clean, all the taps work, quiet, cozy and wonderful friendly staff!

Vacationed from December 2 to December 12, 2015. The impression of the hotel is positive. For me, the placement is VERY good; you have to walk a bit to get to the sources, but it’s useful. You can walk along the gentle path, or you can first take a walk up the stairs into the beautiful garden. The hotel employs responsive and good people who really make your stay a vacation. Many thanks to ALL the staff of the resort. The food is delicious, dinner is made to order. I lived in a single room on the 4th floor. View from the window of the room to the villas, from the bathroom and toilet rooms to the overgrown rock. Birds were singing under the windows. Very interesting latches on the windows. I met nice and interesting people. A huge hello to everyone and continue to have a good holiday.
