Hotel "Humboldt 4*" is located in the center of Karlovy Vary, opposite the Dvorak Gardens, on the banks of the Tepla River. The place is picturesque. Not far from the springs. The hotel is very comfortable to stay. The rooms are cleaned daily, there is a good treatment facility with professional medical staff, a two-week stay is 40 procedures. We really liked the sanatorium. Convenient location close to the springs to go to the city, also nearby. The resort staff is friendly and helpful. In the hotel lobby you will always be greeted with a smile and greeting. The treatment facilities are the same as in many sanatoriums in Karlovy Vary. A huge plus of this sanatorium is the medical building, which is located on the second floor of the main building. I think this is very convenient, especially for older people: you don’t have to run anywhere, look for your office, get confused between floors, and in some sanatoriums, even buildings. You calmly enter the medical building, leave your appointment sheet at the reception desk, and calmly communicate with other vacationers and wait on the sofa to be invited. No fuss, running around or anything like that. Moreover, the girls working in the medical building are quite responsive; they will tell, show, explain and help everything. The equipment in the medical building is new, we had enough procedures, we just missed the “salt cave”, there is none in the sanatorium. Although, when we were driving, we knew about it. During the 10 days we stayed in the room, our bed linen, bathrobes and slippers were changed 4 times. The room is cleaned every day, a little early, but it’s probably no different, like when we left for breakfast, they cleaned up our place. Nutrition is a completely separate topic. We read reviews that this is the weak point of the sanatorium, and the food needs to be improved. DON'T TRUST ANYONE!!! The assortment of dishes is quite large, there is a choice for every taste, the preparation is simply wonderful, everything is very tasty, the portions are simply huge, there are always sweet pastries for breakfast, lunch and dinner, for lunch and dinner there is also an assortment of fruits: apples, grapes, kiwis, plums, bananas , tangerines, pears, oranges, watermelons, melons, pineapples. But not in one day such an assortment at once, but at least three or four types of fruit at a time. Believe me, we have something to compare the food in Karlovy Vary sanatoriums with. Even the more rated hotels seemed weaker in terms of cuisine. There is a separate dietary menu (where everything is harmless, but for us it is not tasty, although if health forces it, then there is no escape...) And also a swimming pool, sauna and hot tub. You can go to the pool and bath all day long for free, the water is clean and the temperature is comfortable. From 16 o'clock the saunas are turned on, there are two of them: one is dry, like a Finnish one, the second is a hammam. There are sun loungers for relaxing, clean towels, a cooler with cold and hot water, a radio, two exercise machines: one elliptical and the other some kind of vibration. Excellent location (5-7 min) to the source Nr. 15, the compactness of the hotel - only 37 comfortable rooms, impeccable staff work and excellent and varied food. This is our 5th visit to the resort and in our opinion it was in the best hotel we have chosen over the years. Regarding food, I have a proposal to share a main dish and a side dish; this is not only my wish, but also that of other hotel guests. On some days the soups were too fatty; not all guests could eat them due to health reasons and there was no alternative. I liked everything: location, accommodation, food, treatment, staff. We had a rest from 28.12. to 01/04/18. A small, cozy hotel with friendly staff and good medical facilities. High ceilings, pleasant interior, warmth in the room (regulated radiators), warmth in the hotel. It’s comfortable to walk from your room to treatments in slippers and a robe. The treatment department is open from 7.30 to 19.30, procedures were prescribed both in the morning and in the afternoon. These days it worked seven days a week. Many thanks from us to Mrs. Anna!!! We highly recommend that you go to the medical department immediately upon arrival without waiting for a doctor’s appointment! It’s convenient to walk to the springs - right from the hotel, down the stairs and through the park (you can do it without steps, along the sidewalk along the road). To Geyser (No. 1) no more than 15 minutes, to Sadovoy (No. 12) - 3 minutes. I liked the food on the menu; there were poultry, meat and fish dishes to choose from. Deliciously prepared, beautiful presentation. I would say the portions are large. Breakfast is a buffet too with enough hot and cold options to choose from. Good times and durations for breakfast, lunch - 2 hours, dinner - 2.5. A New Year's celebration was organized with interesting dishes, entertainment, champagne and fireworks. We recommend this hotel! Unexpectedly, I found a very nice stylish hotel - Humboldt - right in the center of Karlovy Vary and not far from the springs! The restaurant and reception hall are so elegantly decorated, beautiful curtains like in Italy and good quality furniture in all rooms. The people are smiling and friendly at the reception and during the procedures - Mikhail and Yuri! There are enough procedures and can be changed, there is a swimming pool and a jacuzzi + sauna for free. The food is mainly dietary - no fried, fatty, or spicy food. In winter there are up to 8-10 types of fruits + watermelons. The price is optimal - not overpriced, which is nice. I liked everything! I go every year, but to different sanatoriums in the Czech Republic. And I wanted to come to this sanatorium again.Negatives

Last year we vacationed in another four-star hotel, so there is something to compare with. Usually, many hotels wish you a happy birthday, purely symbolically, even with a small chocolate bar. But here it’s not, both my husband’s and I’s birthdays went unnoticed. If you order something extra at a bar, it is better to pay there immediately rather than write it down to a number. Poor coordination between restaurant and hotel reception. Or do the receptionists generally not know how to use a computer? I don’t know, but twice I was offered to pay for what had already been paid. It’s good that I saved the payment receipts and could present them.

Our family consisting of 2 adults and two small children, 4 years old and 2 years old, enjoyed our stay at the hotel, we were given a large and spacious room, that is, the room consisted of 3 rooms and 2 toilets with bathrooms. It was very comfortable and pleasant to relax. Everyone was cleaned day and changed towels. The bed sheets were changed once a week. The elevator is excellent, it’s convenient to get in with a stroller. True, in our bedroom you could hear the elevator running, but you quickly get used to it and it’s normal. The food was excellent, we had full board for three, 2 the summer one was free. There was more than enough food. The portions were huge, a lot of meat and fish. The baked goods were homemade. The Christmas dinner was wonderful with red fish, candles and champagne. On Wednesdays there was live music at dinner. The hotel is quiet and calm, if anyone wants to take a break from the noise and fuss. I recommend. The staff is responsive and kind, they immediately respond to problems and requests. I was pleasantly surprised that the procedures are performed both on Saturday and Sunday. Excellent acupressure head massage. Mud packs, underwater massage - everything is at a very high level. The small pool was not one of the mandatory procedures; it could be used from 8 to 20 at any time. And from about 16 o'clock the sauna was ready and the hammam was working. There was a singer performing on Wednesday evenings and over the next two weeks I went on several interesting excursions. It should be taken into account that I was on vacation before Christmas, so very close to the center of the city there was a Christmas tree and young and not so young artists performed. The weak point of the hotel is the food. The main dishes for lunch and dinner are not always deliciously prepared, every now and then. The selection of salads and appetizers is small and uninteresting; some salads have a lot of sauce. I talked about this with the manager at the reception, there was a slight change for the better. Honestly, sometimes I wanted to go into the kitchen and cook something myself)) I understand that everyone has their own taste, but still there are some general cooking rules. Breakfast was good. Also, if you take into account the drinking regime and procedures, then the start time of breakfast certainly needs to be changed, please think about it, at least from 7.30. This is not only my personal opinion, but also that of many other hotel guests. It would be nice to change the opening hours of the pool a little, to make it until 21:00, it is difficult to have time to swim after dinner (after all, you can’t go right after eating!), and it is advisable to start operating the saunas from 14:00. Also in the pool there are very inconvenient ladders. In the rooms, it is advisable to change pillows where necessary. These are the wishes that could improve your wonderful hotel.
