Stay from June 25th to July 15th, 2023, two people, double room. Location Central and great, in the immediate vicinity of healing springs, max. 7 minutes walk. Service The medical staff was very nice and helpful. The treatments were very professional. Gastronomy Breakfast as a buffet. Rich and varied. Lunch and dinner according to the menu (you chose from 6 menus the day before). There was soup for lunch and dinner. There is something for every taste. Everything was freshly prepared and we enjoyed it. The staff helpful, friendly, simply great. Room The room was in house 2 with a view of the street and was also big enough. Very clean, quiet and functionally furnished, nice for a 3 star hotel. Towels were changed approximately every 2 days, bed linen every week. The room cleaning took place daily. Plus points: kettle, hairdryer, a hot pipe for drying laundry. Price performance / Conclusion Good price/performance ratio. The hotel is very clean, lots of seating in the hallways and a library. We plan to repeat the spa stay and can only recommend the Krivan sanatorium.Negatives
The hotel is only partially handicapped accessible. There are many stairs to climb to buildings 2 and 3. Not so easy for older and disabled people.

In principle, I was satisfied with the room, but I was extremely surprised that those living in rooms with a balcony are allowed to smoke - and this is in a medical institution (?!!). The medical staff began to see me as a person only after I brought a chocolate bar 🤷♀️. Hence the corresponding attitude: one nurse simply threw a hot, warming cake on my back; when I screamed in surprise, she said: “This is pleasant warmth.” And what was the reflex massage worth - she sat me on a stool and moved my hands somehow; when I asked in surprise why the massage was not lying down, the answer was: “You have scoliosis”... Not true! I didn’t go to her again. But I was served even better by an elderly lady in a short robe using an electric massage with suction cups; She also sat me down on a stool, turned on the system and left. I wonder if she herself could sit in this position under electricity for 10-15 minutes?! When asked why I don’t lie down, but sit, she answered: my back hurts to bend over. And then I politely asked her for a robe to cover my knees, which were warmed up during the previous procedure, but I forgot to say “please.” The lady burst into a tirade that we are all Russian ill-mannered boors, we don’t know how to behave and are not familiar with the magic words of politeness. Out of fear, I apologized to her 20 times, but didn’t go there again. To be fair, I asked other vacationers about their impression of what was happening: some were satisfied with the system of preliminary cajoling and flattery, some whispered indignantly that such an attitude towards vacationers was disgraceful. I expressed my opinion. In the 90s, I moved from Kyiv to Sweden to break with the Soviet system forever, I speak four languages fluently, Russian is the way to communicate with staff. I came to the sanatorium to maintain my health, where a positive psychological attitude is crucial. Did not work out!!

The work of the medical staff, the veiled rudeness of the doctor during the initial appointment and the nurse who performed the physiotherapy procedures, the unacceptable reduction of procedures to 5 minutes, of the three massages the first was carried out by an unqualified worker, of the three carbon dioxide baths, one without carbon dioxide, I can evaluate this as a doctor and how a person who repeatedly receives treatment in Karlovy Vary, non-compliance with the appointed time of procedures, poor kitchen, which runs out of food even during the designated appointment time. I have no desire to go to this resort anymore.

The impression of the sanatorium was spoiled by the head physician Chlupová, who conducts an initial examination in 5 minutes, which according to the price list costs 34 euros and immediately prescribes procedures, ignores all attempts to explain her condition and show extracts from the attending physicians. The very first procedure led to a sharp increase in pressure. In response to requests to review the procedures, this “doctor” stated “they don’t go to the doctor with such pressure,” “the sanatorium is not for you,” etc. Chlupova behaves arrogantly, rudely, and can shout, this is what many who had an appointment with her say about this.

The doctor is very professional, attentive, prescribes procedures thoughtfully, trying to take into account all the diseases I have, friendly, and congenial. Wonderful specialists for all procedures. My room, 1317, is wonderful, very comfortable. The girls cleaning the room were very polite, they always knocked, linen and towels were changed frequently, and cleaning was done every day. The waitress ANYA, very friendly, smiling, always brought food quickly. At the reception desk they always helped with resolving my questions. Many thanks to ALL of them and good luck in their work!!! The food couldn't be worse. It's not tasty. The salads are the same. The second courses are so-so. All products are of low quality! Very little fruit, very little. Please forgive me for writing about this negativity, but this opinion was expressed by almost all vacationers.

I was so excited. I have visited other spa towns in previous years and also stayed at other hotels in the same spa town, but Hotel Krivan has been the best so far. The doctors were great, the treatments were great, the food was very good, it was a very, very nice vacation for us. However, I would recommend 3 weeks, 2 weeks is a bit short. I'll only go there in the next few years because I was very satisfied. Thank you for that.

We have been regular visitors to this hotel for many years and every year our vacation begins with us being given single rooms for two. These rooms are for one person, but they have double beds and they accommodate not Czechs!!!, but everyone else, for example from Germany. I asked if it was possible to reserve a room when booking holidays and treatment, I was told no. But when we arrived, the other room in which we had lived before and which we would happily occupy was free, and we were told that regular visitors would arrive there in 3 days. Those. for some you can reserve and for others they are accommodated in rooms that are not suitable for living at all, in the attic with windows to the sky and a room with a sloping ceiling on which my husband constantly hit his head, with a baby shower and with a light that turned on from anyone movement both day and night...Horror! And every year we are placed in that corner, we have already been there in all the rooms, and every year the vacation begins with the exchange of rooms and hassle. Knowing very well what rooms there are, when asked to move us to another room they ask us “why?” I just want to tell them to live in this punishment cell yourself... A few words about the food: the Czech Republic has such delicious bread and bread products, a very wide variety, but in the hotel there is only stale gray bread and bagels every day. The salads taste as if they were two days old, there is no fruit.
