Since my husband and I vacationed for the first time in K.V. then I’ll try to give some advice and feedback that will help beginners. We are from Belarus, we went by car. We spent a transit night in Wroclaw and didn’t have time for lunch when we checked in (it was until 14-00). Therefore, it is better to choose Dresden. Navigator for K.V. The route was laid out through a pedestrian zone - the taxi driver charged us 200 crowns to show us the way - 10 dollars for a 3-minute ride. Check-in: standard, friendly and fast. Large room - excellent quality linen, bathrobes, slippers, TV, refrigerator with minibar (not used), soap and shampoo, 2 towels each and new plumbing. High-quality cleaning every day. Replacement of towels - optional (you leave it on the floor). Linen - once every 3 days. Robes - once a week or ask the maid. We slept great. On the very first day and reception by the head physician, after a survey he prescribes procedures and recommends which sources to drink water from.. The next day we took blood tests and received sanatorium cards. We were prescribed all the procedures for the first half of the day: carbon dioxide bath, hydromassage bath, bag with carbon dioxide, warming paraffins, magnetic therapy, classical massage (Peter has golden hands) and gas injections. Everything is nearby, in bathrobes and slippers, strictly on schedule, friendly staff - a fairy tale, not a treatment. After 3 days, a blood test was ready, based on its results, the head doctor prescribed treatment and wrote out prescriptions for medications. Prices in pharmacies are lower than even in Poland. Sign up for VAT refund (Tax Free) Meals: breakfast is beyond praise - I won’t describe the menu: everything is there and it’s very tasty. Lunches and dinners - made-to-order system of second courses. An excellent salad table. Two soups to choose from (sometimes to suit the taste), cakes and baked goods, juices, fruits, tea and coffee. And all this in a nice, cozy restaurant with snow-white tablecloths and good dishes. Every day we visited the pool for an hour, every other day the sauna - in the morning you sign up at the reception: the pool is designed for 4 people, the sauna is for 8 people. Mineral water: different in taste, composition and temperature. It’s very pleasant to drink. Going to it is not very good. It’s not even that Smetana is practically located further and higher than all the other hotels on this side of K.V. , but the fact is that visiting the springs also takes time: 40-50 minutes 3 times a day - do the math yourself. And, sometimes, the schedule of procedures forced us to choose between breakfast, lunch and water. In such cases, we did this - we filled the thermos with water. Recreation and shopping: well, of course, we managed to visit the Karl 4 beer restaurant in the Becherovka store (it itself is very tasty) and drink coffee and cakes in the Pupp Hotel cafe, and also went to the *Skala* restaurant of the Khodovar beer factory and to the nearest German town is Marktredwitz with a Frei supermarket. In K.V. themselves There is also a huge number of both small shops (almost everywhere the prices are with big discounts) and supermarkets (Varyada and Tesco), where, for example, for 100 euros you can buy 3-4 pairs of excellent sneakers. Currency exchangers have almost the same rate and no commission. On the day of departure, they asked for a packed lunch for the missed lunch. I can definitely say about the excellent quality of health improvement and relaxation. Public: oligarchs don’t go to Smetana, thank God. There are no young people either: the age of vacationers is 45-65 years. And one more note: In K.V. Only former citizens of the USSR travel, albeit now from different countries, but all are Russian-speaking. In principle, there are no foreigners, even from neighboring countries. We arrived home in Belarus and checked the prices for the same number of days of treatment in our best sanatoriums (Ozerny, Alfa Radon, etc.) - the prices are approximately the same with Smetana (we booked with good discounts), but everything else definitely loses ( sovietness and has not gone away for almost 30 years). I was unpleasantly surprised by the rather dry attitude of the head nurse towards us when we asked her to check the pressure after measuring it with a tonometer at the reception (the difference in the readings reached 20 points). She did us a favor with a squeak.

We received a lot of positive emotions from our holiday and treatment in Smetana Vysehrad. The staff is very friendly, everyone works as one team. Checking into the room, having procedures prescribed by Dr. Igor Kochubey, receiving procedures exactly as scheduled, excellent food - everything is at a very high level. In November, the weather is not always conducive to evening walks; evenings can be wonderfully spent in the spa center. I would also like to note that the sanatorium is located at an altitude and should be recommended to active people who do not have problems with walking. 8-9 km a day, and my phone marked the 21-24 floors, and these are only three walks to the springs. But it brought us great joy; it’s not often that we have enough time for a long walk. In general, I recommend it!Negatives

We were in Karlovy Vary for sanatorium-resort treatment for the first time. What a great host!!!!! We were with a small child (2.5 years old), without a request from us, the hotel staff prepared a crib for the child (my husband and I were expecting to sleep together with my daughter). We forgot the stroller and again, no problem - they provided it. All without additional payment. The head doctor examined the child at our request (she coughed a little). In general, the attitude was as if we had arrived home. At the reception, Dana is a very pleasant and friendly woman, medical staff ( the masseuse Yarka is simply a miracle), in the restaurant (Nicole, Marianna) the employees are all very good people. They will always tell you everything, go to the meeting! Absolutely everyone, including the maids, speaks Russian. My husband and I travel often, but this is the first time we’ve seen such a kind attitude. Many thanks to the entire Hotel-Sanatorium and a deep bow for your attitude and your work! A little away from the water (ascents and descents), but it’s perfect for walking (min. 10). It will be a little difficult for people with bad legs, my mother-in-law was with us and she went with us to drink mineral water only once.

Nice pool and spa center, it is better to make an appointment in the morning for a certain time. The food in the restaurant is very tasty and varied; a choice of five dishes is offered for lunch and dinner. The procedures are of high quality, everything is on time. We are relaxing and undergoing treatment in this hotel for the second year in a row, so there is an opportunity for comparison. The room became more comfortable (we were put in the same room as last year), in particular, the windows were replaced with new double-glazed windows and the furniture was updated. The food in the dining room has become much better (fruit in large quantities), dietary dishes are always available (buckwheat, steamed vegetables), and the menu is more varied and tasty. All this suggests that the hotel management pays attention to the comments made by vacationers and takes appropriate measures to improve our vacation and treatment. I would like to note the excellent work of the entire hotel staff: management, reception staff, housekeeping staff (very clean housekeeping), dining room staff, medical workers: Eva, Misha, Yarka. Thank you all very much for your professionalism, kindness, correctness, politeness, all this adds to our health and mood! The cleaning left much to be desired - the room was not vacuumed. A very poor wash kit, not for a four star hotel. The dishes in one shift were sometimes simply tasteless - in the one where the waitresses were only girls.

Что касается процедур, мы проверили список, которой предлагает sanatoriums.com и там все правильно. Поэтому мне кажется, что поизошло какое-нибудь недоразумение. Во первое – список предлагаемых процедур верный, но правда, что например ударная волна или масаж лавовыми камнями платная. Но большинство процедур включает пакет лечения. По поводу лабораторных анализ тоже самое – они конечно проводятся. Только вчера мы их сделали 15 😊 Об этом всегда с клиентом договорится врач. На следующий раз Вас убедительно просим – если будут какие-нибудь вопроса типа анализы или платные процедуры, спрошивайте пожалуйста сразу у нас, все с удовольствием обясним. The Smetana-Visegrad Spa Hotel is located in a very good part of the city, it is a quiet, cozy place, near a forest, there are no noisy streets with a lot of traffic, but at the same time it is not far from the main part of the city. The hotel building is not new, like all other buildings in Karlovy Vary, but the inside of the hotel is clean, cozy and very warm. We chose a double room, the room is large, spacious, bright, clean and comfortable. The only thing that is not entirely convenient about the location of the Smetana-Vysehrad Spa Hotel, but this is more a complaint not to the hotel itself, but more to the authorities of the city of Kardovy Vary, there are very few signs to the drinking springs. Since the springs are located, although not so far from the hotel, it is about 450 meters, but this is a descent down the mountain and back up, and for elderly people, and even with problems of the musculoskeletal system, these 450 meters were solved step by step , and I would really like to find the shortest passage, and they exist, these passages! But we must find them first! Since these passages are located between houses and hotels and you won’t notice them right away, and there are almost no signs that it is in this place that you can go to the center where the springs are located. First we had to do a good run around, asking around the people who had already lived in the hotel, while we ourselves explored and found shorter routes.

We rested in this sanatorium from 09/15/17 to 10/07/17. I really liked the location of the resort. Many people consider a walk of half a kilometer to the source a minus, but I consider it a plus. Like a morning warm-up, exercise, fresh air. Nearby there is a sports ground in the forest, generally super. The food and service, including the medical staff, are at a very, very good level. The Internet is nothing to write home about, one might say it practically doesn’t work. The access points are ancient and the speed and connection are constantly interrupted, so if anyone needs stable Internet, you need to buy a local SIM card. The only and significant drawback!
