I liked the location of the hotel. It is not in the very center, but a little to the side. But still everything is a 5-10 minute walk. Many hotels can only be accessed by steps (which are no longer in the best condition). And to the Smetana-Vysehrad Hotel you can either go straight up the steps, or walk around a little past the church - and there are no steps at all). The hotel staff changed our bathrobes without any complaints (the first bathrobes they gave us had holes in them; we went to the reception and were immediately given new ones). Coffee machines are only available for breakfast. And there is no coffee in the rooms. Of course, you can order it at the bar for an additional fee at any time, but nowadays there are usually coffee makers in all rooms. My biggest disappointment during my stay in Karlovy Vary had nothing to do with our hotel. We booked the hotel through sanatoriums.com; they organize the departure of excursions from the hotel Pavlov, and there you cannot even go to the toilet before the excursion. This is just crazy. The arrogant madam at the reception finally deigned to say that the public toilet was across the street. “Across the road” (hotel Star) sends back to hotel Pavlov. Excuse me, of course, but this is complete idiocy. If excursions are organized there, then at least there should be some kind of agreement, not to mention the fact that this is the center of a tourist area! And in general, Karlovy Vary is a beautiful place, but they still need to develop and develop the service sector, and then develop it even further 😊. The rooms do not have air conditioning. In hot weather the room is stuffy. The room faced the street and was very noisy with the window open. There were tables for smokers under the window, and groups gathered around them until two o’clock in the morning. One of the catering shifts spent the afternoon here. This interfered with rest after the procedures. This is my third time staying at a spa hotel. Every year the level of service and treatment only gets better, it feels like you are visiting old and good friends. They smile at you at the reception, the lady doctor notices improvements compared to the previous treatment and advises what to pay attention to... All procedures are on time and there are no queues, and I rescheduled the time twice due to excursions, without problems. The food is excellent, this year the cook delighted us with excellent porridges in the mornings, even the semolina was like in childhood, without any lumps. We met at the hotel with relatives who had arrived from Germany, and stayed at dinner longer than the allotted time. Lenochka, the waitress waited very tactfully and patiently; they apologized, of course, for not noticing the time, but it was nice that she was so attentive to the guests. Everything is organized clearly and calmly, there is no crowd anywhere, everyone smiles and says hello. I recommend the hotel and give it the highest score. The only thing if you are going to go for the first time, keep in mind that the path to the springs may seem difficult if you have problems with the musculoskeletal system. I had a great time at Smetana. Clean air, silence, birdsong, forest nearby. I had problems with my back and shoulder, but after the prescribed procedures it became much easier (special thanks to the doctor and all the staff of the medical department). I never waited more than 3 minutes for a procedure; I was accepted right away, even if I arrived early. I liked the food, everything was fresh, tasty, the service was fast and attentive. I would like to thank the restaurant cook and the workers in the hall - Helena and Vashek, who very quickly remembered which room I was from and brought the ordered dish without reminders. The room was cleaned every day, towels were changed upon request, bed linen was also changed every 3-4 days. The hotel is very clean. The receptionists responded to any request (brought an iron, scales to weigh luggage, left a suitcase for 2 hours before departure, etc.). Thanks everyone! I want to come back!Negatives
The pillow in the room was not very comfortable - too soft and flat, my neck was strained while sleeping. In front of the hotel entrance there is a wonderful summer terrace, where it was rarely possible to enjoy clean air due to people smoking. I would like non-smokers to also have the opportunity to sit in the fresh air, because in the heat the room was a bit stuffy. Well, one more wish: in addition to shower gel and soap, there should be body and hand lotion in the rooms. After treatments related to water and visiting the pool and spa center, I wanted to moisturize my skin.

I really liked the hotel. Absolutely corresponds to its position as a “SPA hotel”. Great for relaxation and maintaining health. The staff everywhere is friendly and attentive. The doctor is a great professional. The food is homemade, tasty and large portions. The medical facilities are decent and modern. If you want to really get treatment, then you need to come for 21 days; if you go for a shorter period, then this is a SPA. Wonderful SPA area: three different saunas, jacuzzi, swimming pool. Located on a quiet and beautiful street next to a park and an Orthodox church. Walk to the springs for about 15 minutes downhill, but return uphill. We enjoyed two weeks. The course of treatment was prescribed by the doctor, it is not possible to say whether it helped or not, but the back pain was noticeably reduced. The doctor said that the result of the treatment would appear later. The staff of the sanatorium was at a height. I liked that the bed linen was changed often, not twice in two weeks. I would particularly like to mention the masseuse Gerta, who massaged very professionally. We plan to come again.

We checked into the room earlier than expected. The food is above all praise: always tasty, high quality and excellent presentation of the dishes. The cooks are professionals in their field. Very friendly and helpful staff. The location was good for us, since the sanatorium is located near the forest, so it was quiet, just as we wanted. There is also a cathedral and a lake nearby. Walking to the springs is not tiring, but if you have problems with the musculoskeletal system, then it is better to consider another place.

I rested in the sanatorium from June 5 to June 16. I came to this sanatorium for the second year in a row, and next year I plan to come again. I really like everything, wonderful quiet place, very pleasant staff, varied food, did all the necessary procedures (thanks to the head nurse, at my request she slightly changed the schedule of procedures so that I could go for a walk not only before breakfast, but also after before the procedures started). Rather than a negative, but a request. Last year I went to the sauna every evening, after the sauna the attendants (Alexander and Victor) offered everyone FREE green tea infused with berries and herbs. It was a wonderful end to another day. Sauna lovers like me sat and enjoyed cool tea. I thought this was an initiative of the administration. It turned out that the attendants made tea at their own request. There was no tea this year; Victor said it was banned. Please ask the administration, maybe you will change your mind and the staff on duty will make tea again?
