I was treated at the Krivan sanatorium for the second time. 2 weeks from 17.09 to 30.09. The first time was last year in April. Compared to last year, the quality of food has improved significantly. Thanks to the chefs! There are a lot of salads, fruits, desserts! The waitresses in the dining room are very friendly, welcoming, always with a smile on their faces! The staff at the balneo are also friendly, all professionals in their field! The head nurse will always help with advice, smiling! The staff at the reception desk is very friendly, they immediately respond to requests... The maids cleaned the room well, changed the bed linen 2 times in 2 weeks! First they put me in Krivan 3. A terrible room for one person, literally 3x3 sq. m. meters, with a chemical smell, with a balcony that opens into the courtyard shaft: dark and unpleasant! The next day I asked to change the room and they settled me in Krivanm1! The room is bright, with a balcony facing the street and most importantly without a terrible smell!

For lunch and dinner, a second portion of a choice of 6 dishes. You can take 2 soups and 3 salads unlimited. Many thanks to the waitress Natalya, if you need a procedure, she brought you hot food ahead of time and always helped. All sources are nearby, which is important, because... 45 minutes before meals you need to go drink fresh water. The doctor and nurse were great: they received me well. There was a very rude woman in the salt cave. The masseuses were slack: instead of 18 minutes, they stroked for 10-12 minutes. The massage is terrible.

The reception at the reception was friendly and, in addition to Russian and Czech, also in German, although even the entire hotel staff (including treatment staff) only understood a little German. All treatments can be reached quickly. The hotel is located quite centrally, you can reach the shopping opportunities and the colonnade with the many drinking fountains quite quickly on foot. We stayed in house 2, the room was uncomfortable, the furniture could be replaced. Medical staff, especially the doctor, could show more interest in the spa guests. The initial examination is very poor. On the day of arrival, a quick question/answer game and blood pressure measurement by the nurses, and an appointment for the doctor's consultation the following day. You would have expected more from the doctor, instead she only half-attended the matter, wrote down the complaints and then handed out the procedures without asking or explaining what one or the other procedure was good for. An examination, as you would expect from a doctor, does not take place either. Laboratory tests that were also booked were not even taken into account. We had to chase after them for a long time and at the end of the treatment at least the blood values were checked. No further tests were carried out, but were included in the total price. There are hardly any doctor's consultations, only at the beginning of the treatment, otherwise no time or not there at all.

Karlovy Vary is a great place for treatment, relaxation and just a pleasant pastime. In the relatively small resort area itself, within walking distance there are drinking mineral springs, varied in style, affordability and architecture, many hotels and spas, restaurants and bars, beautiful shops and city and forest paths for walking. Walking around this city is a great pleasure. The Krivan Hotel has been a place of rest and treatment for our family for many years now. The combination of relatively inexpensive accommodation with the right variety of medical procedures and good dietary nutrition is all that is needed to gain strength and improve your health. Thanks to the hotel director for maintaining all this. I dream of coming here again next year for a longer stay. I'm sure I won't regret it.Negatives
The only personal remark is the schedule of procedures, which is not always convenient for those who are treated here. It often conflicts with the drinking regime and the breakfast and lunch schedule. But it is possible that this cannot be avoided, especially when the number of procedures is quite intense and they are all only before 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
