The hotel is excellent. Very clean and super nice personnel. Food is delicious. Entertainment is fine. The location is excellent, maybe, just maybe a little bit far from the city center, but it is not a problem at all.Negatives
I would suggest having a little better GYM at the hotel location. There is a GYM somewhere in the hotel, but when i found it, it was closed. I suggest having an open GYM without hesitation to get the key from the front desk. I dont even know what is inside the GYM room since I was not able to go. However, if it would be open, I would go.Positives
They make every effort at reception, even though it was very busy at Christmas. The chef tried very hard to explain his food, which is nice. The food was well presented. At the bar in the anteroom of the dining room, every effort was made to make the afternoons and evenings outside the buffet as pleasant as possible for guests, young and old. The parking manager tries very hard to place the cars well and helps with the luggage, even the man in the wooden house with the dog comes out when he notices that someone is having difficulty parking. During the treatments I often had the feeling that I was doing work, just being here. I don't ask that anyone speak German, just gestures and facial expressions (non-verbal) were enough to know that I was actually unwanted. Except: the two women waxing my hands were very, very nice, then you're happy to give a tip, but above all you're happy about a nice stay.. The woman at the whirlpool (bathtub) makes a face as if she doesn't like doing her job. Except: the little physiotherapist, who has some Asian elements in his back massage, he knows a lot about his subject. Another case: I once came to another physiotherapist (large growth) in normal clothes because I couldn't manage to put on my bathrobe after the walk. I was treated like a criminal as soon as I walked in and he said the word "bathrobe." I should go into the next room and take off my clothes. The room was dark and I turned on the light first. When he saw this, he scolded, turned off the lights and said it was his place of work... I spun on my heel without saying a word and left the premises without the massage I had paid for. The service in the dining room: A blonde, slim woman about 55 years old scolded me loudly in Russian when I sat down at a place that didn't have a place setting. All the people looked at me. The next day I went to her and said: "You don't need to speak Russian to me like you did last night, I speak German and so does she. I didn't respond to her loudness. No comment from her. You notice pretty quickly that the older waitresses have their regular customers, and they are nicer to them than to the others. Once, because I was sick, I wanted to fill my thermos with hot water. There was a big fuss, again in front of everyone and loudly saying that I couldn't just do something like that, I had to ask. The older colleagues take things out because they have been working in this hotel for so long. I once heard that you should treat your guests courteously if they are nice to you. Long-time guests also regret that the Hotel Richmond has deteriorated, as has the food and service. It was my first time there, I can't judge. Given that it was Christmas and everyone wanted peace, I wonder what it's like there at other times. Sorry, but you asked me for my opinion. I was there from December 22nd. -December 27, 2023 in Richmond I think the hotel deserves to be talked about well and the hotel to make a name for itself. And the potential is there! There are a few who spoil the reputation and thereby destroy the efforts of others. I've moved around the world a bit in my life. We booked two rooms for our family. Our children have come from other countries for our Christmas Eve together. According to the hotel information, a dog is allowed. Nowhere does it say that there are areas that you are not allowed to enter with your dog. It might not actually be a problem if they had told us POLITELY. In our case it was all completely different. An older white-haired lady from the restaurant was completely rude and unfriendly. Although we booked with Christmas dinner, we didn't get a festive table. There is no good parking, the car was parked on the side of the road covered in branches and leaves, but you still have to pay, it’s not substantial. The girl who prepared my bath reacted unpleasantly about my Muslim swimsuit, tried to restrain herself from making comments, but sighed and shook her head)) I think I could have taken it off, but I wanted to make a video for Instagram)) The girl helped me with the video. There was no cleaning lady every day, 1 time for 3 nights and 4 days. Maybe because we didn’t leave a tip on the first day 💁🏼♀️ She opened the door without asking, even with a “do not disturb” sign, to pick up the trash and to clean up after us, even though we hadn’t checked out yet. I was not interested in whether cleaning was needed, although we have a 1.5 year old baby. Please make a selection of rooms based on the number of people on the website, since I booked a child, but we got a room without an extra bed, and I, relying on the fact that everything was taken into account, didn’t look and we all had to sleep together all this time and we didn’t get enough sleep. At first I asked to change my room, but there was no room. It's a pity that on weekends you don't have treatments, at least massages. The salt and herbal saunas were simply warm, neither chamomile nor salt felt like you were just sitting in a room. I would like a small pool for children. There is no relaxing music during procedures, some incense may be used during a massage, this is also calming*. This is with an asterisk, as a wish 🤗Positives
We visited the Richmond Hotel 4 times. And as always, we were very pleased. Wonderful, attentive medical staff. Nice women cleaning the rooms. Excellent home cooking and wonderful, always smiling women who work in the restaurant and love their hard work!!!! I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews, what else do people need!!! The hotel has everything you need for a relaxing holiday with excellent treatment. Wonderful spa center, swimming pool, saunas. Not very close to the center, but for people who like to walk it will be nice to leisurely walk through the forest and breathe in fresh air. As always, sanatorium.com is top notch. So the following things struck me (my opinion!): 1. the swimming pool is simply too small for the size of the Richmond, especially when the hotel is full. 2. the shower and bathtub combination in our apartment is simply too high for people with physical limitations. There is no separate shower. 3. There were problems with communication in some areas. I don't expect German, but a hotel of Richmond's caliber should at least offer some English as an alternative. 4. Lots of stains in the room, wallpaper that is peeling off, scratch marks, doors that don't close...Positives
